Sorry this isnt exactly a rules question

but what Blood Angels Dreadnought vehicle has the effect that when it kills something it gets more attacks, and keeps essentially going forever

Close but no cigar.

The bloodfist acts like a DCCW. The Blood Talons act like Lightning Claws and for every unsaved wound they deal, you get an extra attack

A Furioso Dreadnought costs 125 points, comes with 2x Bloodfists with built-in stormbolter/meltagun. These fists can be replaced for free by 2x Blood Talons and retain the built-in weapons.

The Death Company Dread comes with the same options and cost, but has other stats and rules.

Remember, the Blood-Talon-armed Dreadnought is only Str. 6 though. Str. 7 if they succumb to the Red Thirst or are a DC Dread.

As well you need a pair. So if you suffer one weapon destroyed result they no longer keep rolling extra attacks.

Can't you only deal CC damage out to models in base contact and also within 2"?

Nope, you can kill any model from a unit in CC.

Only models in B2B or within 2" of a model in B2B may attack. But, wounds are allocated as normal and can kill models outside the 2".

but see thats the real issue with the Blood Talons. They're sickening in CC...if you can get there. and any squad that's gonna let you get into CC with those is gonna be able to take on a dread. and since the only way to catch faster moving things (the sort you'd wanna kill with those talons, like gaunts or such) is to get it a storm raven, you've essentially got 350 or so points put into killing a squad of guants. that's the weakness in the unit.

Sometimes you have no choice but to get into CC with the dread, moving 12 on a Stormraven, disembarking, and being able to assault is something you can not help at times.

and sometimes it helps to have 2 Stormravens, in case one gets shot up.

Stormravens have an anti-tank or anti-infantry role as well, depending on what guns you take. so that "350 or so points" is more than just a transport, it can hold 6 terminators in it as well.

Nasty one two three punch right there.
