What skimmer is trying to ram? Some can't ram. But yes if skimmer a can ram then skimmer b gets to dodge

On a side Note, isn't it almost impossable for a veichle that has a max move of 12 to ram 12. If the veichle is 11.99 in. away it is not 12 and if it is 12.01 away, you can't ram it. Is that correct?

Give a raider/ravager a shock prow and they can tank shock and thus ram. With that said yes the skimmer being rammed follows all normal rules for being rammed. It does not matter what type of vehicle is doing the ramming. Any non-immobilised/stunned skimmer can attempt to dodge.

That would be wrong. Skimmers do not get to dodge if the ramming vehicle is also a skimmer.

Yup, ramming 12" is almost impossible. As someone fielding 4 vehicles that will try to ram everyone and everything I had an exact 12" ram exactly once in about a hundred games.

Getting your tank exactly 12" away is basically totally impossible. You could always break out a microscope and determine that it's actually 11.999999999 inches. Or, zoom in either further to figure out that its an angstrom too far. And, of course, its dependent on when you take your measurement, as the atoms slightly moving constantly.

But, none of those are practical solutions, and you'll quickly be labeled TFG for arguing this too strongly. So, it all comes down to how much approximation your gaming group uses. Because, we all do some approximation.

Yeah no roads if you are flying above them...all they do is add 6" to maximum overall speed (not increase cruising or combat speed by 6") Skimmers have the same distances that a ground vehicle does with the addition of flat out, which I believe a fast ground vehicle has (12"-18") whereas a fast skimmer can turbo boost (18"-24"). Aethersail can increase this distance and a shock prow allows for it to ram. The only thing is you can never go above strength 10 (distance + max front armor value) + d6.

If you do not contact the Hull of the Stormraven you can not Ram it.

Does the (A) Tau Devilfish even come in contact with the (B) Stormraven?

From what I remember the Devilfish fits under the Stormraven and would not contact the hull.

but I do not have a Devilfish, can someone test and see if the Devilfish contacts the Stormraven's hull?

As with anything concerning the flight stands I would say that you need to either hit the hull or the base depending on the heightof the rammer.

But the base is ignored except for assaults and being in terrain.

So you can not contact a skimmers base and claim a ram, as far as the rules are concerned.

In my happy place, I'm in my happy place...

I believe that this was faq'ed that for purposes of ramming the base of the storm raven must be contacted. Not specifically the hull. I can't verify right now.

I can tell you that you would get a boot to the head if you tried to use that argument in a game against me...

I'd find the image of a Raider with a shock ram doing mach 12 across the battlefield to ram a Monolith, and then the Monolith (going about 2 MPH) sideslipping it hilarious

It can't happen, ruleswise, but if it could..

Now the other way round, with a zippy little flying skiff being unable to dodge a flying building going the speed of an arthritic snail is also funny

I for the life of me don't understand how people post in here without reading the rules. I know the forum is "You Make Da Call" but make it after doing a modicum of research. Doing otherwise just exacerbates the already horrible understanding some people have of the rules.
