Subject: GS over Primer?

Contagious Dreadnought of Nurgle

I recently got a steal of a deal. Preadator and a Defiler for 30$ used. I play Nurgle so i was going to nurgle them both up which requires a ton of GS work. The defiler is going to be an excessive amount of GS compared to the other models i have done. Heres the thing. The defiler is already primed, should i try to strip it and then begin the GS work or should i just GS over the primer. I stipped the predator and it turned out that it had 4 layers of paint and NO amount of simple green would remove it all so i had to spend hours with a dental tooll picking away at it. The defiler is clearly only primered however with the billions of nooks and crannys i am afraid that this process will take forever...literally. Any past experience with this dakkagang. Thanks.

Tbh green stuff will proberly stick to a primed surface better than bare plastic . That's what I've found anyways.

I dont think GS will stick, I think it will act more as a stripper in contact with the primer. I find I always reccomend scoring the surface slightly just to give something more for the GS to adhere to

It doesn't matter how bloody far the apple falls from the tree. If the apple fell off of a Granny Smith, that apple is going to grow into a Granny bloody Smith. The only difference is whether that apple grows in the shade of the tree it fell from. |

so should I score the surface with something like fine sandpaper or a hobby knife?

Scoring would definitely work if you're going that route.
the tip of the knife should give you enough to work with. Also try it on a small section to see if it sticks or not

Very good point about testing the surface. I can always do a small spot somewhere and then rip it off to see how it sticks. I guess i can make a small article out of if for other gamers to help to inform them.

I should have been clear to, you dont need a lot of surface. GS sticks pretty well to begin with, and when it hops off... well, its got the exact negative contours of where it was stuck to, so superglue and it goes back no problem.
You only need two or three little dots depending on the size of the GS your adding to it.
