Team,

So, I was playing against a Slannesh Demon army last night and he had a banner that gave -2 to Ld. If I had cast the spell Vaul's Unmaking on it, would it have become a mundane banner? And does Vaul's Unmaking work on Demonic Gifts? I'm not sure if the banner was a demonic gift, but my gut says it doesn't work on gifts. However, if it was a magic banner then of course it would.

As per the rule book, gifts are not magic items.
As per the FAQ, banners are magic items, and a successful Vauls Unmaking would turn it into a non-magical banner.

However, there is in fact nothing that says Daemonic Icons are magic banners, even though standard bearers can carry them. It just says they are Daemonic Icons.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I suppose I thought that with
As per the FAQ, banners are magic items
you were taliking about magic banners in general and not specifically daemonic icons.
