Instead of the GKT's, I'd recommend you upgrade them to paladins instead. To pay for those paladins, take out some purifiers from one of the 10-man squads. Also, the psycannon isn't cost-effective on your GM, especially if he is going to be riding in the stormraven. Dump it and also get him some rad grenades.

Personally, I wouldn't want to run stormravens unless if I had at least 2, but that's just me.

You could run the 'raven so long as you reserve it if you don't get first turn. I'd swap the grand master for a Librarian and also upgrade the Terminators to paladins as jv2 suggested. Paladins are just so much better point for point and a Librarian increases their effectiveness more than a GM does. With the Venerable alongside, they'll be muurder.

Grand Strategy options are nice but you have a mech army so Scout Outflanking isn't too good an option and you don't need more scoring units, which leaves only Counter Attack (but you want to charge if you can) and re-rolling 1s to wound. Which is very nice but not as nice as Might of Titan, Quicksilver, Sanctuary, The Shrouding, Warp Rift and a Warding Stave...

Ok, I don't feel that Paladins are really worth there points. they are such a points sink. i would be losing so much and they aren't even troops.

I only use the raven as a fast deployment missle. I fly up if it dies thats fine I have the terminators and dread there to slow them down.

I give Crowe scout and the 2 5 man squads scout. If I roll all 3 that is. If I can outflank great, I outflank with Crowe and then I see if I can outflank with the 2 5 man squads. If I need there fire support I will just give them a free move due to scouts.

The 10 man squad I combat and have one 5 man w 4 cannons on foot. ( possible scouting them to get in range faster ) and the other stays in Back until need to get out as the move up to take objectives or get into combat.

I like the Libbys but I just can't see spending the points on him. All my terminators are allready I6 so I don't really need quicksilver, MoT is nice but I shouldn't need to assault vehicles with them and it only works in my turn. So if they assault me with a Dread I am dead. The stave is nice but honestly I don't really see it being needed and for what a 300 point HQ?. I have a 3++ anyways with my sword, but most should be dead after all the I6 models swing anyways.

Now this is all speculation and my ideas of tactics.

Thanks for the help. Keep it coming

Well you could always try a couple of games with GM+terminators and then another couple with librarian _ paladins. It's up to you, but when I've run terminators, they've died at nearly twice the rate of my paladins (rather more than twice the rate once in melee) and lost more firepower in so doing (and they start with less firepower too).

But GM + terminators is an okay option if your preference is that way.

Crowe + Grand Master Grand Strategy has a lot of potential.

I would drop the Storm Raven and replace it with 1-2 Land Raiders and a 5 man Interceptor squad.

If you consider the game as a rock paper scissors scenario, you currently can't deal with a shooting line. I saw yesterday 2.5k worth of BA (similar list to yours) get tabled on Turn 1 by an artillery Imperial Guard. The BA player had 2 SRs but they did nothing to stop the slaughter.

Purifiers do not have deepstrike so how to deal with the mobility? In this case, you could go with: 1-3 Land Raiders with Purifiers, 5 man interceptors for objective grabs, x3 Servo Skulls (deepstrike Paladins, prevent scout and infiltrate), Grand Master, Crowe, x? Dreadnoughts and Purifiers in Rhinos.

Above are all ideas to play with for the future. As for the list you are running right now I absolutely second what was said above:

a) drop psy-cannon from GM
b) upgrade Terminators to Paladins, add the same psy-cannon back, add banner (banner is mandatory, it looks awesome, adds an extra attack and eliminates my oh so favorite Shadows of the Warp and Runes of Warding)

Then:

c) I would still remove the single SR, its no threat to the enemy by itself! Throw in a Land Raider to give cover to all the rhinos behind it as you advance (pop a transport or two with it using machine spirit while moving)

d) make all hammers master crafted (not sure if its worth it but I enjoy having a re-roll)

e) loose the 2 incinerators on the Purifier Squad, consider taking a purgation squad if you really want them (I am running a purgation squad in a SR, it is LETHAL, 33-49 wounds per attack on average for extremely few points invested)!

f) throw in 2-3 servo skulls with the GM

Hope you find some of the ideas to your liking, have fun at the tourney tomorrow!!!
