Fortunately, I lent 3 Broadsides, 3 Deathrain Crisis Suits, and 9 Pathfinders to jy2's friend. May their presence on the battlefield kick ass, take names, and brings glory to the Tau Empire!

I can't figure, why don't people invest points in Shas'el's bodyguard AND elite slot Battlesuits for a total of 15? I know, overpriced, still... by the virtue of firepower factor...

Simple - lots of other stuff is important too - scoring units/heavy slots/pathfinders. Points are the limiting factor, But yes lots of crisis suits do have lots of good firepower.

17 Kill Points is average compared to other MSU armies. The 'Traitor' could hang out with the Fire Warriors inside the Devilfish. Plenty of models where giving up one of my own models as a 'Traitor' won't put a huge dent in my army. The modified seize ground isn't too bad for my list. Kroots could infiltrate or outflank. Piranhas could contest late game with their Gun Drones deployed. Not sure how well this list will perform in Victory Points. It really comes down to which army it will face.

This list was made to go against mech spam armies. Hordes would be an interesting match up, as will MEQ. Kroots en masse are useful against deep strike or outflanking armies.

Too bad in 2 of the scenarios, the kroots can't infiltrate.
