Alright, so in the codex it says that big choppas are two handed weapons, however, it only sayd that to have a big choppa you only need to exchange in your choppa and not your pistol too. So is it a typo or what?
Its not like it doesnt make sense for huge nobz to be wielding two handed weapons.

"Whoever said the pen is mightier than the sword obviously never encountered automatic weapons."

I suspect that it's two handed in relation to assaults - in that you can't claim a bonus attack for having 'two close combat weapons' as you would with just a regular choppa and a pistol.

Like Agent brass says in cases where the wielder has a 2 handed weapon it still means he can fire a ranged weapon(if it hasnt been swapped for the 2 handed weapon).

It just means he cant claim +1 attack for 2 close combat weapons in assault.

Its not a typo, you keep your bb gun to take random shots at people til you can close on them and pummel them with your big choppa. No extra attack, but +2 str to help you get the wounds in.

You can still shoot the slugga, you just don't get an assault bonus out of it. There are no restrictions to wielding two-handed weapons other than this.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

as stated you keep the slugga i mean every oprk has to have a noise maker. you just can't wield both in the assault phase so base 3 attacks plus 1 for charging no bonus to 5 attacks since no close combat waeapon. if combat continues down to 3 str7 ... not bad granted, but they still get armor saves and str7 and then str 6 doesn't always cause instant death if getting through armor

Though if you're buying a Big Choppa, I'd rather give the Nob a Shoota- which you are able to do, for free. So then you'd get the extra shot, and the extra range.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

If yer an Ork, why dont ya WAAAGH!!

you can't give a nob a shoota for free unless it is with the boyz mob in which case you'd definatly be making a choice to not take a power claw on the nob which would be... bad

they can take in a purely nobz group a tl shooa or kombi weapon but they all cost points

Eh, I rather love Big Choppas, but only in Nob Squads. 5 points to wound on 2+ and threaten lighter vehicles, hitting at initiative 4, while differentiating the nobs in the squad, is really nice.

But yes, sluggas can still be shot before they get into combat. When they are in combat, they get no bonus "extra close combat weapon" attack.

I love using big choppas, on the charge you have melee autocannons. For dirt cheap. And you will always wound enemy infantry, in most cases, on 2+.

Ah! Right, was thinkin' of Warbosses with the Slugga/Shoota thing... And before anyone says it don't matter, Warbosses with Big Choppas are good for huntin' Walkers, and light vehicles if they can catch them.

Nobz too. Though the BC is best on Nobz goin' MC hunting.

The restriction on only have two single-handed weapons or one double handed weapon is largely.gone now.

Multiple weapons, including double-handed, is fine. Grey Hunters and Chaos Space Marines both come with three weapons as standard.
