Blessing of the blood god gives a 2+ invulnerable save vs psychic powers and force weapons.


Here are the questions about the bonus of blessing of the blood god?

1.) does the 2+ invulnerable save work Thousand sons Bolters fire, infernal bolts which are bolter rounds that are inscribed with psychic power?
2.) does the 2+ invulnerable save work against all nemesis weapons cause they are all force weapons?
3.) does the 2+ invulnerable save work against psycannons which ignores invulnerable saves cause it is psychic weapon?
4.) does the 2+ invulnerable save work against psilencer which fires concentrated psychic might?
5.) does the 2+ invulnerable save work against daemon blades wounds?

1,3,4 - not psychic powers or force weapons. The are weapons with (fluff-wise) a psychic effect but they are not psychic powers and they are not force weapons.

2 - they are force weapons so you get the save

5 - "daemon powers" are not "psychic powers" and they aren't force weapons so no.

No, just because they are described as psychic does not make them Psychic Shooting Attacks

Yes against the Instant Death and Daemonbane effects.

No, again it is not a Psychic Shooting Attack

See 1 and 3

No, Daemonblades are not Psychic Weapons, they are just standard CCWs/.

As above. Remember that fluff /=/rules, so be careful reading the descriptions of things as they are mostly fluff and so have no bearing on the game.

Valkyrie - entirely incorrect about daemonbane. It is not a Wound, so you CANNOT save against it - you are removed from play.

Psycannons do NOT ignore invulnerable saves.

Unless they roll a double 6 for the ability.In which case,the wielder is a Mlvl 1 psyker,and the blade is a force weapon.

Well so far I have had to correct the last 3 Grey knight players I have talked too... they all are trying to use the ignore Inv save rule.

No

Yea and No. Daemonbane is not a psycic power, nor a force weapon. It does not need to be activated. There is no wound. There is nothing to save against. If it's activated as a force weapon then yes.

Psycannons don't ignore invul saves. Also no.

4.) does the 2+ invulnerable save work against psilencer which fires concentrated psychic might?
Not a psychic power, no.

5.) does the 2+ invulnerable save work against daemon blades wounds?
Not a psychic power, no.

It was said earlier, but it really needs to be said again. Fluff =/= or != (which ever you like) rules.

It seems that fluff can have an effect on the rules. If you look at why a Tau pulse rifle is a plasma weapon.

I seem to have misplaced my Deamon codex and so don't have an exact wording on the rule ATM. But simply dismissing something because it's fluff based. Does not always work and may need more investigating done before a conclusion can be reached.

If a model takes a wound by a force weapon and the force weapon has been activated then the model is slain no matter how many wounds they have? well if you have a 2+ Invulnerable save you can ignore the wound so there is no instant kill. If a space marine captain with a 4+ inv save and he gets hit by a lascannon he would suffer instant death, but only if he first fails his 4+ inv save first.
