I'm not near a Rule book at the moment right now and I really need to know. What is the difference between Turbo Boost and Flat out movement????
I need to know because in this guy was running a Storm Raver in a tour. and he would either Turbo Boost it or Flat out move one and then use his GK Libr. to give it an extra +1 to the cover save. So he would move and use the Psy. power and get a 2+ cover save with it. Is this correct or was I getting Cheated? Also the Judge did rule in his favor. But I know the Judges aren't always right. I run Necron's so I don't have to deal with these rules normally.

The storm raven can't turbo boost as far as I am aware.

It can move flat out to gain a 4+ cover save that the GK Libby can cast Shrouding to give the Raven stealth which will improve the cover save to 3+

Vehicles can not turbo boost. Fast vehicles can move flat out.

Bikes can not move flat out. Bikes can turbo boost.

So yes, you were cheated, the storm raven does not have the ability to turbo boost, and thus can't get the 3+ cover save, it would just get obscured from moving more than 12".

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

either way, when it go's zoom enough to get a cover

the cover is a 4+ save as it's a fast skimmer (vehicle) than the libby's power will make it a 3+ if he passes his Psychic test

The difference.

FAST vehicles can go FLAT OUT.
(NON-FAST cannot.)

Bikes/Jetbikes can do the TURBO BOOST thing.

Bikes/Jetbikes do not go FLAT OUT and vehicles do NOT turboboost.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Nope.

"A skimmer that is not immobilized and has movd flat out in its last Movement phase counts as obscured(cover save of 4+) when fired at."(BRB, pg. 71)

Flat out movement starts at any distance above 12". You are thinking of turbo boost.

Moving more than 18"+, but yes. Otherwise correct.

Both of these are incorrect.

Fast Skimmers gain their 4+ obscured cover save any time they move flat out; and Flat out is any movement over 12".

The Shrouding grants Stealth, stealth is a +1 cover save; therefore a Stormraven moving flat out under the shrouding has a 3+ cover save.

Your opponent was applying the wrong rule, but was otherwise correct; Flat out is a 4+ cover and Stealth makes that a 3+ cover

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

How does this contradict anything I posted?

The OP says the opponent was turbo-boosting his storm raven and applying shrouding for a 2+ save. Which is cheating.

As I showed; the Storm raven can, in fact, get a 3+ cover save(by being given Stealth via "The Shrouding")
