Has anyone run into portals in 40k?

I know space vessels use the warp as a sort of portal, and the eldar have webway portals, but have any marines ever been through one?

Also I remember their teleportation sort of being portal based (something about set portals on battlebarges that they walk through to teleport, sort of explained why dreadnoughts couldn't think it was the 4thed codex), though might have changed.

That is not a portal, that is a form of teleporting. A portal would stay there for longer than a few seconds.

Actually, the second edition version of the power(can't recall the name ATM) WAS a portal. You placed two markers to indicate the ends of the "tunnel" in the warp where you entered and exited.

Well, i geuss there would be portals involved in teleportation devices...

In Atlas Infernal, the main characters find a relic that turns out to be a portal to the webway (as is noticed by Inquisitor Czevak using it several times throughout the book)

The Necrons are rather fond of permanent. portable portals.

They mount small ones on their Monoliths, and likely ahve larger ones ont he Tomb Worlds. I'm fairly sure i read something somewhere about a Necron portal on a world being explored by the IOM, but i could be wrong.

I'll try to dig it up

The Dark Eldar tend to portal attack in the fluff, if i recall the books correctly. There are permanent, fixed portals into Commorah, and wargear miniature portal generators as well.

Ahh forgot about the necrons.

Now for my second question:
have any marines ever been through one?

Marines have been through the largest portal into Commoragh, as Vect wanted them to He arranged for it to be jammed open and the guards assasinated so that the Marines could 'rescue' their battle brothers (and act as his cat's paws )

Not sure on the Necron portals. A Deathwatch hit team did follow a damaged necron phaseout to it's repair depot to blow it up, but i think they teleported in under their own power rather than using a Necron portal.
