This came up in game recently when my friend's dreadknight lost a combat to some khorne berserkers and failed its morale test, Does this mean that the berserkers can sweeping advance the dreadknight? The BRB dosn't say that they can't so one would assume that they can.

It just seems odd that some infantry can wipe out a MC through a SA.

Yes, MC can be killed by sweeping advance, however the Dreadknight is a marine and like all marines(I know off) he has the ATSKNF special rule, which makes them subject to the no retreat! rule when caught by a sweeping advance. So he would instead take wounds instead of being killed instantly.

Arent those Fearless? Most MC's I have seen have the Fearless USR, therefore cant be swept. I would say if it didnt then it could be. But I still think most MC's are fearless.

As long as they can wound the fleeing unit, they can sweep it.

So the Dreadknight is a Monstrous creature as opposed to a walker?

works like a normal combat result yes he would break and get chased. He does have Shall know no fear but isnt fearless. So he will auto rally if you catch him.

My friend who plays GK didn't realise that the ATSKNF special rule made them use the "no retreat!" rule until today. But thanks for the help dakka

All tyranid monstrous creatures have the fearless USR as well. However if there were a way to remove such a USR from a model or unit, they would be just as susceptible to SA as infantry, should they lose combat.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

Actually, for some reason, Hive Tyrants (including The Swarmlord) and Tervigons are NOT Fearless. I don't know if this was intentional or an oversight, or if it has been changed by a FAQ.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

But that's not a result of being MCs, it's some additional rules their respective codex books gives them.

But they do have ATSKNF which helps them not get caught in a sweeping advance.

Somewhere between MC's being Relentless and Gargants being Fearless I smashed things together and mistakenly put that all MC's are Fearless. My bad.

Good point, I forgot about Synapse granting Fearless. Now if only it still grant immunity to ID from Strength double Toughness...

Only Warriors and The Parasite can be ID.The other synapse creatures have a toughness of 6.
The only MC in Nids codex that can be ID by Str=2XToughness are Mycetic spores(T4) and Harpies(T5)

Yup, some of the FW ones can even die to sweeping advances, for example the big squiggoth(not the gargantuan one).
