I searched but couldn't seem to find a direct answer for this so I thought I'd ask here:

1) In order to benefit from Lemartes' "Fury Unbound" ability, I attempted to allocate a single wound to him. My friend informed me I have to allocate enough wounds to remove an entire model...therefore the only way I could get just 1 wound on him was by putting on two, and hoping he passed 1 save and failed the other. I agreed, as he is more knowledgeable of 40k than I and proceeded to lose Lemartes to two failed saves.

This seems ...less than fantastic.

Is there an errata or something I should be reading? From what I've been reading here and tacticas concerning Lemartes people will assign him just a single wound (often the first) the DC he's with takes.

So what's the deal? Must you always assign him two wounds (enough to remove him) or can I assign just one?

Your friend has misunderstood the wound allocation. In a unit with several identical multi-wound models you must indeed remove whole models (BRB pg 26). In a DC with Lemartes you are expressly forbidden from giving Lemartes more than one wound before everyone else has had one allocated too (Complex units, BRB pg 25).

That was immensely helpful, thank you.

There is only ONE requirement when allocating wounds to be saved - you do so equally amongst members of the same unit. Thats it

When *removing* models, you must remove whole models from within the group of identical models where possible.

So in a squad of 10 marines,and 1 captain,you must first allocate 10 wounds(one for each marine)onto them,and 1 on the captain.If I then have 2 spare wounds,I can put these on the squad?

If you have 11 models and 10 wounds, you can put those 10 wounds on ANY 10 models you wish.

With 12 wounds on 11 models, you have to put 1 wound per model. The last wound can go on any model of your choice.
