I know many of the old-time models are funny looking and such (old Chaos dread, I'm looking at you) but I find some to just be awesome.

My favorite, by far, is the old Landraider. I've been looking for one for a month or so. Ya they look a little weird, but it just has so much charm.

So, what's your favorite OOP model?

The previous Deff Dread. Although it was a monstrous pile of metal that needed more pins a glue than imagined, it is still a nice looking model brimming with plenty of character.

It's design has also aged well if you ask me.

I too love the old Def Dread, the size difference compared to the new models is crazy though. He's barely bigger then a new Kan!

As for my favorite it would have to be the Imperial Guard commisar with a hand flamer and axe.

Spoiler:

Remember what I said about not having enough experience to remember OOP models I love. I was wrong. I remember these, and I remember wanting some. I didn't play Chaos, though.

:: sigh :: Now unless I get some off eBay, they'll become a long-forgotten dream... It'll be a good dream, though, until I get butchered.

The Necron Lord that actually comes with a Staff of Light that was boxed with the giant battle-chest or something as always been my favorite lord. The whipping cloak, the pose, his whole demeanor just seems to portray absolute authority and dominance, but with finesse

Had a set of these long, long ago, when I was too young to put them to any use:

My friend also had the boxed set that came with all these. This is 2nd edition right?

So, what's your favorite OOP model?

Look like that has had a bit of repair work done with several new bits and few bits of damage. No surprise, many of those on eBay have seen better days. Make me feel a bit better about rescuing mine, it's in a pretty bad way, so if I wasn't a purist about it then I could get it sorted and it would look good.

I'm not sure which OOP models I like in particular, there are loads of good ones.

I like a lot of the metal marine models. Iron Armor, Corvus, etc all looked really nice. The old Jumpacks were loads better too (both the beer keg ones and the predecessors to the current packs).

I also much prefer the older metal Tau stealth suits to the newer plastic ones.

Not all the old tyranid's were terrible, I absolutely love these guys, the pose just screams 'HUG MEEEEEE!' and I just find them incredibly characterful, I will pick one up eventually just to display it!
