August has been a huge month for us. With Gen Con finally over we get a chance to post again and talk about the latest releases. First, we want to say thanks to all the guys that made Gen Con such a success for us this year. We sold out of many of our products over the Gen Con weekend and the Trade Your Bag program was a huge success.

How does the the P.A.C.K. Go compare with the P.A.C.K. Air?

And by that I mean, if I want a bag for travel needs, why, other than smaller size, would I go with the GO?

Well, the Go has backpack bits... Useful once you get somewhere. I think it's also a bit cheaper.

Doesn't the Air use differently-sized trays than the other bags?

Any chance of doing Dust Tactics trays some day? The infantry spaces could be like normal rectangle spots, but something with big spaces for the walkers with extra areas to stash the extra weapons they come with would be nice.

Does the PACK Go come with foam, or empty?

Likewise the Infinity Beta bag.. does it come with foam as well, and it looks like it requires special foam (non standard BF foam size).. will it be pluck and pick foam?

Balance - you are correct in some ways. The P.A.C.K. Go uses standard Battle Foam Trays (15.5 x 12). The P.A.C.K. Air uses both the Battle Foam Trays (15.5 x 12) with room next to it for Privateer Press Trays (15.5 x 8.5)

This way you can swap your foam trays in and out of your older bags without needing to buy new foam.

Alpharious - the Go is for people that ride bikes, motorcycles, or travel by train/subway. These folks don't really like to have wheels and bits pulling behind them. The P.A.C.K. Go has less room than the Air but you can use it with back pack straping to make traveling easier.

Also, why is the infinity logo off-color? Is the main product like that?

Anyway, will all 3 trays fit in the PACK Go? or will I really need at least the 432?

A case designed specifically for one thing isn't the same as a generic case. Imagine that.

I think the idea is that the Infinity bag is optimized for Infinity miniatures and armies as are other companies dedicated bags... If the trays are compatible with BF bags or not is not the point for these kind of bags...

Navarro - you are totally correct. We design bags that fit the games from our partners. Our partners have as much say in the size of the foam as we do.

All of them want something a bit different to keep them apart from the others.

Also, our P.A.C.K. system bags all use the same foam size outside of the Mini and C4 for basic reasons. They are smaller bags.

Necros - Yes, it fills the entire P.A.C.K. 432 and has room for 3 toppers. You will however have room left over in the P.A.C.K. Go. If you take a look at each bag and the foam trays they have the exact space they use up in any case. That should help with the math of totalling out the setup.

So, you're upset that a custom foam manufacturer made a custom sized foam for his clients?

Glad to see this finally coming out. Looks like a nice versatile bag, with more room for trays than I honestly expected. From a purely "I need an army bag" standpoint though, the laptop pocket seems like a lot of wasted space. Is it capable of holding a Battlefoam sized tray, or does the padding in there prevent that?

Hungryp - Yes, you can use the additional laptop pocket to fit one more 2" tray. You will need to be careful and have a topper on it or your models could fall out during transport. The front pocket is about 2.25" wide inside.

That shoud work for what you need. Hope that helps.

Is there a timeline on when/if precut trays for the other Spartan Games will be out?

I have all the Directorate stuff for Firestorm and a Dwarf and Orc fleet for Uncharted Seas that I could help fill a bag with.

Skrulnik - as you know the Uncharted Line is getting redone by Spartan. We are waiting on the new ships to make their trays. Those should start coming out by Christmas.

The Firestorm trays will all be released in September. You will have the selection of starter box sets and various large models. Look for those to be posted on the Spartan Forum first and than on here.

Good question... i.e., PP-tray-sized, but appropriate for miniatures for other games (i.e. GW miniatures).

Unless I missed something (and if I did, I feel like a jerk), any news on the air sized foam tray being added to the custom foam creator? Otherwise custom trays are going to be way to expensive to justify purchasing the air.

Sparkywtf - The full size P.A.C.K. Air tray size will not be added to the tray creator. The reason for that is exactly what you said. To expensive to custom cut. The trays would be like $50 to custom cut in that size.

We will continue to release pre cut Air Trays based on what is cool and what people email us that they want to see. Those can then become standard production for our team and allow us to offer them at a more reasonable price.

For now, we have 5 to choose from with more to be added in the future. Orks, Necrons, and so on.

We are actually working on adding a few more lines of text on the info for the PP trays. Just to make things easier for people to understand. The size is something that should normally give it away. 15.5 x 8.5 is what the Air fits. If a tray is that size it will fit in the Air next to a BF size tray that is 15.5 x 12.

If your looking to create your own trays via the Custom Tray Creator just select Privateer Press size and put GW style cut outs in it. We will cut whatever you need based on your designs.

Well it is expensive for all parties involved, I would rather pay 50 dollars to get an air tray cut than have to pay 30 dollars each for 2 trays to fit the same space.

However I will say, I didn't realize they fit a normal tray and a PP tray next to it, which actually adds some really awesome tray options, and will encourage a sale.

Only gripes are the tank cutout on the air tray with the 2 valkeries. It uses the predator shape, which I don't need for a guard army. Not sure if the predator shape holds a leman russ in it, or if there wasn't room for the leman russ. But really its a great tray and is what makes the air the first bag I will buy (you have great products, it was just which bag)

edit: Since I posted already, I will just add on to this real quick. I wish the tray creator could do half size trays too. Sometimes I just half a tray more that is 3 inches thick, while 3 trays at 1" on the other half would be perfect. Maybe I should just buy another bag and more models

Sparkywtf - actually you don't have to worry about the IG tray not fitting. The cut out you see is not for a predator, its for a Leman Russ / Chimera cut out mix.

We actually combined the the two IG tanks to make a combo new shape so it would fit both the Leman and the Chimera.

I'd still like to see your custom tray shapes include sizes in quarter inch increments. Mostly you only provide half inch increments and that isn't really optimal.

As an example, my Necron Warriors stand vertically in a 1.5" deep tray and need 1.75" x 1" rectangle holes to put them in (I warehouse more figures per tray that way). You don't provide rectangles in that size so I have to use two smaller shapes and manually cut the strip between them in order to get this. It's really inconvenient.
