Hey,

My wife and I have decided to enter in a double comp next month. I have my trusty Purple Def eatas, and has her very shiny eldar.

My list is as follows:
Warboss,Power Klaw, Eavy Armour, cyborg body, Twin Linked Shoota ==> 105
8 X Nobs, include Pain boy, Big Choppa, Eavy Armour, cyborg body ==> 305
30 choppa Boys with 1 Nob, Power Klaw, Boss Poll, ===> 220
30 shoota Boys with nob, Power Klaw, boss poll, 3X Bigshoota ==> 235
Killa Kans, rokitt, grotzooka, skorcha ==> 135

my wife's Eldar

farseer Guide & Doom and some other gem tyoe stuff 145
10 X Gardians with a scatter laser (thingy) - and a warlock with Conceal?? 135
10 X guardians with a star (Shooty Thing) and a warlong with Embolden?? 145
5 Path finders 120
wraith lord With a big shinny sword and an Missile launcher 140
war walker With Scatter laser and Missile launcher 75
5 Reapers, the boss guy has a dirty big gun that fires of lot of stuff 237

The idea behing both of this list is that the orks charge up a head while the eldae stay behing cover and shoot things. Hopefully they will have trimmed the opposition for me when i get to stomp them. In in turn it is expected that my hoard will provide some cover for her eldar.

Sorry for not being exact with the eldar weapon names. Well actually i'm not that sorry, i iz ORK!! WHO CARS WHAT THE DAKKA IS CALLED AS LONG AS THEY KILL STUFF

So what do you think?

I'm not sure enough on Eldar to talk about the lists "meshability" but I do know that you should probably have a big mek w/custom force field, if you're going to foot slog

I did think about that, but i want to present my orks as easy targets so to take the heat off the eldar.

My plan is to hide the warboss and nobs behind the Knas. If they conentrate on the boys then i'll have very heavy squad of nobs and Kans on top of them before they can say ARRRGH!!.

If they conentrate on taking out the kans and nob squad then i got 60 boys ready to WAARGH!!

Considering most of the eldar players army is guardians, who have 12" guns, it's not very shooty. For awesome shooting you want falcons, Ws with SL and warwalkers. Any of these will serve you well, also don't bother with star cannons, they're too pricy for what they are, SL are much better, quantity over quality

I'm not so sure about that Eldar list. Who the heck is the farseer gonna go with? The nobs? I'd say yes if that's allowed. If the farseer is only allowed to cast psychic powers on Eldar only, then he/she should definitely take fortune. A good bet is to stick the farseer with the reapers and have him/her fortune and guide the reapers to help protect the big investment.

The footslogging guardians is a failure though... you're basically paying 130+ points for a BS3 heavy weapon that's going to keep your troops immobile. If she has some jetbikes, those will be a much better investment. A squad of three bikes is 66 points and they can zoom around turbo-boosting for the 3+ cover save, hiding around and snapping late-game objectives. If not, just run another squad of rangers and use the spare points for something that can at least put up somewhat of a fight.

The heavy weapon in the guardian squad counts as an assault weapon.

She is running what appears to be a Footdar list, and its not bad for 1000 pts. Footdar are in fact quite competitive and will make a good combination with foot orks. Sounds like a fun army! Good luck

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Instead of letting the Eldar sit back and shoot, move them up with the ork army to provide close range fire. Footdar is great to advance and blast people, especially with tough wraithlords to stop a charge. Lets the Dark Reapers provide the fire from behind, with pathfinders ready to claim an objective in the backfield or out of the way area.

Drop the nobz as they are on foot and will get targeted. Grab another unit of Kanz and run them all one way, 1 unit with rokkits the other with grotzookas if you want. It's not good to diversify the kans as a unit can only shoot at one unit, so best to have all the rokkit kans shoot at transports/tanks while the grotzookas can handle the infantry. By dropping the nobz you also free up enough points for the 2nd unit of kans, a big mek with KFF and a 5 man loota squad.
Warboss,Power Klaw, Eavy Armour, cyborg body ==> 100
KFF Big Mek ==> 85
5 Lootas ==> 75
30 choppa Boys with 1 Nob, Power Klaw, Boss Poll, ===> 220
30 shoota Boys with nob, Power Klaw, boss poll, 3X Bigshoota ==> 235
Killa Kans, rokitts ==> 150
Killa Kans, grotzooka ==> 135

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

@ Hargus
Sounds like very good advice. However i really do love my Nob Squad.
It's not rational, I know, but cutting out my Nob sqaud would be like cutting off my arm or something.

This will probably be my downfall.... but such is life.

I feel like you would get more synergy by focusing on overwhelming your opponent up close. I think the farseer should be ditched for an Avatar. The guardians trimmed down a bit, another wraith lord, and no path finders.

Then for added Synergy, give the orks a KFF, and use a phalanx of sorts to give everything a cover save.

I would try this for the Eldar list- if you want to be real nasty...

Avatar
farseer- fortune, warding

10 Guardians + warlock- missile, conceal
10 Guardians- missile
10 Guardians- missile

Warithlord- sword, bright lance
Wraithlord- sword, missile
Wraithlord- sword, missile

really focus on having the Eldar help the orcs, and focus on a single aspect of the battle. Hide the lords behind killa kanz. Give the kanz a cover save with a kff. Keep the Avatar fortuned... shoot during the approach, and smash into the enemy with both armies like a ton of bricks.
