I wanted too cram in as many terminators as i could in a 1500 pt list. I manage to put in 30 terminators plus Belial. I don't care for dreadnoughts and landraiders, rather throw in more bodies, but as far as competing against other 1500 pt list how does this match up? I know the other two squads don't have any heavy weapons there just meant too rush at the enemy as the other four squads walk and fire there missiles.

Belial: th/ss

Um, my friend, you have no ranged capacity at all, and will get cut up because you have no sure way of getting to your opponent.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I see that you have 6 scoring units, but still, they are so expensive....power weapons and mass rending attacks(nids) are going to be devastating.

Serious shooty armies will kite you. I would have to say that to be more competitive, you'd need to swap 2-3 of those squads for regular equipment(Storm Bolter and Power Fist).

Hell, MEQ and even IG infantry can kite you. I admit, it's terrifying in a way, when you think of how many 3++ saves you've got there.....and all with 2+ armor......but still, they will go down.

I have played deathwing for a while, and have a large number of post-faq games in. My thoughts:
All th/ss. The LC attacks mean far less than 3++ in this build.
CML in every squad. Your only ranged shooting, so make the best of it.

It is not the bestest evah, but it is far better than Brother Taurinus is giving it credit for. Deathwing really starts to shine at 2000.

Genestealers will fold to the blast templates, shooty armies better get their shoot on early, because by turn 3 what isn't dead is in your grill.

where are you from? Finland? Country between sweden and Russia? Never heard.

Agree Inigo Montoya here.
LCs aren't that important I usually take MAX 1.
CML is your friend so use it.
I personally think lists like this are boring, but ATM they are best we have.
Please feel free to ask any questions

You NEED stormbolters in a Deathwing army.
Especially if your not taking any Predators, Dreads, Land Speeders, Ravenwing etc.
5 TH/SS only gets you so far in combat, i would have max two TH/SS in each squad, meaning you still get 6 stormbolter shots, and 2 CML shots, even when moving and assaulting.

Just from how i've seen Deathwing played, I would suggest dropping the 6th squad, getting another CML maybe a command squad, if not a couple of Land Speeders.

I dont know about that team, but I just noticed that you dont have apothecary.
That FNP is VERY good, you should take it.

Ok, so you want to play foot Deathwing with maxed out Terminators. Awesome army choice - few things cooler than a board full of termies marching at your opponent. There are two ways to do it IMO.

Option 1: Shooty Deathwing. Somewhat out of style, but this is how it goes:

Belial w/ TH/SS

5xDeathwing Squads of: 1 TH/SS, 1 PF/SB, 1 CF/SB, 1 PW/SB, 1 PF/SB/CML.

170 points left over to do whatever you want with (Apothecary upgrade, maybe a Libby Termy, etc).

Here the squads are kitted out for shooting and wound allocation. Attach Belial (and maybe a libby if you take one) to separate squads to help catch AP2 wounds. Keep the enemy at arm's length, manuevering and taking advantage of being able to fire the CMLs and SBs while move. Concentrate your fire big time, as you are going to need it all to make dents in enemy squads. Once the enemy is whittled down, assault. Missiles are good for knocking out light vehicles, MCs, etc. CF's are handy in assault vs walkers. The only thing you might have trouble with in this list is fighting AV14 vehicles. You could use the leftover 170 points to take some melta Ravenwing if you don't want a pure Deathwing army.

Option 2: thunderhammer spam:

Belial w/ TH/SS

5 x Deathwing Squads of: 4xTH/SS, 1xTH/SS+CML

Leaves you with 195 points left over for upgrades. You can do Thunderhammer spam a couple ways. Most people just walk across the board firing CMLs and then bonk their enemies on the head with hammers. You could also DWA three squads in and walk the other two up. If you go with this tactic, you might consider giving the following setup to the DWA Squads: 4xTH/SS, 1xSB/CF/CML. This lets you scare some vehicles. Apothecary is a good upgrade, as is the banner, since you want your Terminators in combat here instead of hanging around shooting. Again, you are lacking vs AV14, but it's up to you how to deal with that reality - Ravenwing, Dreads, or just try to survive with the CFs. Finally, you could mix a couple of sets of claws into each squad. It really depends upon your local meta and how much AP2/1 you face.
