I've been playing 40k since, well, THIS codex (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Codex:_Eldar_(2nd_Edition)), so I know 40k pretty well. Not sure why it's taken me about 16 years to get on any gaming forum, but that's another debate for another time.

I have about 3000 points worth of Eldar models, and about 3000 points worth of Chaos Marines (because we all know the two go together so well). I used to play competitively, and was a fan of min-maxing. Now that I'm slightly older, slightly wiser, but with a lot less free time, I just play for fun. As such, I'm getting rid of most of the older models, the ones that are painted poorly or are just falling apart, salvaging what I can, and starting out again.

My old Eldar army started out as an Ulthwe themed force, then I turned it into everyone's favorite army list - the MechEldar

Now, I'm more interested in having a smaller (1500-2000 point, MAX) themed army, possibly one based on the Exodites. It won't be competitive (hell, it might not even fit into a FOC), but it'll be fun to build, paint, and if I can get a like-minded opponent, fun to play.

As for my Chaos Marines, I realized I have about 20 terminators (the newer plastic ones). I think I'll use them as the core for my new Chaos Marines, with the back story being that they're a few squads of Deathwing that have been lost in, and corrupted by, the Warp. This list DEFINITELY won't be legal, because, well, it's all terminators. And that just doesn't fly. But it will be fun for me to put together, and quite possibly very hard to play as. Oh well.

I used to play Warhammer Fantasy as Wood Elves. I don't anymore. If anyone is in the DC area, I will be more than happy to get rid of them cheaply. REAL cheap, as the significant other wants to use the shelf space for shoes, or something like that.

Anyways, looking forward to measured, reasonable, non-personal debates that make the internet the great place that it is. Or, barring that, I'm all for murdering Imperial bastards as they sleep.

Cheers.

PS. My username was derived from one of the characters in GW's Invasion of Armageddon they ran about 8-9 years ago. One of the PoV characters in the battle reports was a bastard of a guardsman called Sgt. Haines, and I liked him. I seem to recall him being mentioned in other White Dwarf articles/stories with a promotion.

Hey there buddy, welcome to Dakka!

On the 20 terminators thing, have you thought of making a Chaos force that's themed on and counts as grey knights? Use their rules but write your own fluff?

Duke: Thanks.

Kitch: That's not a bad idea. Could work very well, actually. Or at least as well as GK terminators work.

Enables you to field what you have... that's a winner as far as I'm concerned, plus it means you don't have to take time out of a busy schedule to spend more money lol.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing your work
