Land Raider. You're gonna need something to tote those Termies around.

That's what I was thinking, but I think the Defiler could provide some intense firepower with the battle cannon

I agree with Coo, The Land Raider carts the terminators around, and has some decent firepower.

Hmm, well maybe the Land Raider then. I do have a Vindicator for my Black Templars army that I don't really use much - I could convert that to a Chaos Vindicator aswell.

The vindicators have all the damage output of the defiler.

Take daemonic possession for those pesky shaken/stunned results.

Every Dakkanaught gets a 4+ Pinch of Salt save.
When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

Well, I'd take a LR. It provides a delivering system for the Termies unless they deep strike, and they can be used to transport a scoring unit. In competitive lists, one often finds a 5 men CSM unit protected by an LR.

LR. The terminators want a ride, and the lascannons will help give more antitank. The list of models given will certainly make a nice start to an army, but many of the weapon loadouts are inefficient and not very competitive. To get competitive you'll want to study army lists online (particularly those of successful players; check out the Battle Reports form to find some of those and see tournament reports from good players) and play a lot of games.

No; he's just not familiar with the codex and is clearly just posting what the models kind of look like they are equipped with. The terminator box comes with power fists, chain fists, power sword, power axe and power maul, the latter three of which are just power weapons rules-wise.

Well the Land Raider makes a great transport and tank hunter, while the Defiler is pretty good all around since you can equip it to go after tanks, infantry, or both. It depends on what you need.

Well, both are far from stellar but the Landraider is imo better. The Defiler might look good on paper but it is huge and thinly armoured for it's size. Combined with the low WS, BS and I it is imo a bad choice.
Still, no matter what you take, buy a second or the Landraider / Defiler will simply act as an easily disable bullet magnet.

I would say land raider. yes its a GIANT bullet magnet but a defiler in my eyes is too easy to kill in 5th edition. I play black templars......I love my land raiders, so my opinion might be swayed a little

The Emperor extends His will to us when we destroy the wicked and impure to reconquer the galaxy in His name. The Emperor leads the galaxy to righteousness, and thus we must petition for His judgement on the wicked... for it is judgement without mercy..
