When I got a 360 I was impressed by it's graphics, it's single player games, online play and controller design. But because I spend time with my friends, I would like to have some actual games that I can play with them

when they're at my place, so I got the obvious choices such as the Halo (ok games), Gears (gak games) and Left 4 Dead (awesome games) games. Anyways besides the games already mentioned what do you

recommend DakkaDakka?

Over Xbox-Live or Split-screen?
Borderlands can have 4 people on live and 2 in split-screen.
Portal 2 has a fun co-op mode.
There are lots of fun arcade games that feature co-op as well.

I doesn't matter as long as I can play with my friends when they're at my place that's all that I'm concerned about.

Reach I can definitely recommend myself, having played it at a friend's house several times, always enjoyable despite me despising the xbox controller.

Best 4 player arcade game you can buy.

And you can go old school with Perfect Dark and do 4 player split screen shooter action WITH BOTS!

Borderlands is some of the most fun I've ever had with split-screen co-op. I really prefer it to online co-op; it's just too bad that it's 2-player only (while online is 4-player), and you can't play online with two people on one system. Still, it's only twenty bucks now, and it's definitely worth the money. If you're a fan of FPS games or dungeon-crawler (read: loot-centric) RPGs, you absolutely can't miss this one.

Resident Evil 5 is also great for 2-player co-op. I originally hated the game, but playing it with a friend made it so much better. It has a ton of unlockable content and an extensive weapon upgrade system, so it should keep you busy for a while.

Halo ODST or Halo Reach, Firefight is awsome in splitscreen. You can see were the both of you are, so ya can help eachother and you can just decide some stuff by talking. Gasp! alking!

HERESY!

At the time of release it was the best one since Halo 1 IMHO.

Anyway, if your into fighting games, SC4 and the like work well.

Splinter Cell conviction has awesome co-op and versus modes.

Awesome campaign and healthbars made it better then halo 2 and 3

Halo 2 was fine, and Halo 3's campaign was such big let down I nearly broke the disc

Anyway, back to the topic at hand.

Deathspank is fun with 2 people!

Agreed.
Resident Evil 5 is a great with a friend...

If you want fun simple games to play with friends, you should probably check out the XBox Live Arcade games.

As someone mentioned, Castle Crashers is a great game. The X-Men Arcade game is a fun game too. A lot of old arcade games like Final Fight/Magic Sword are great co-op games.

Halo 3 had some pretty awesome levels, like the Covenant and The Ark. The covenant could have easily even been broken into two separate levels.

If you can find a copy get the original Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. The game has a wonderfully fun coop multiplayer that is both online and splitscreen with a number of game modes; co-op campaign, horde, stealth, kill all bots etc.

I'll also add that unlike many games, they use the same maps for all of these game modes save the co-op campaign.

Meh, Halo 3 campaign felt more like a chore.. and was to short.. and to easy.... 8 hours after release = legendary achievement.

Le sigh.

Me and a mate had alot of fun with the splitscreen co-op story on Splinter cell conviction. It has alot of replay value as once you get good the desire to do the early missions perfectly is strong.

I'm going to second Army of Two (haven't played the sequel but the first was a lot of fun), Splinter Cell Conviction, and Resident Evil 5.

Also, if you don't mind XBL Arcade, I can't believe nobody's mentioned Golden Axe. It's a little short, but it's really fun.

Also, redux...there's a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team you may have heard about.

"Well, isn't the enemy of your enemy, like, your friend? Or whatever? Can't they team up?"
"Not exactly. In this setting, the enemy of your enemy is still a floating, greasy, armored brain."
"Well, what about his enemy? Maybe you could be friends with him."
"No, because that guy is a mechanical horror in an undying battle shell. He sails from world to world in a flying tomb, serving gods who eat hope."
