So I found an old Battle for Macragge starter set on ebay, got it for $60 (USA) with shipping. Completely intact. As I was going through it I was aware that I run Imperial Fists, not Ultramarines. So I was thinking about the Pilot character, Lieutenant Varras, who came in the set for the purpose of the training scenarios. I wanted to paint him up to match my Chapter and I must say he is quite the detailed miniature for the purpose of a few training scenarios.

That got me thinking I certainly cannot be the only one to do this, so I figured I'd ask you'll as to what colors you put on him and if you use still drop him on the tabletop from time to time. I figure to use him as an objective marker from time to time, he will go well with the dead marines I have and the auto-turret that I 'moded from an old Mechwarrior the Dark Ages piece.

I'll get some pictures of him up in the gallery soon along with a few more of Dorn's children.

If not for the mediocre who would be great, and thank goodness for those who are just terrible they make even those who are mediocre look great

May the Sons of Dorn forever be vigilant

I did the same,I just painted him a blood raven and use him as a scout.

Paint his armor yellow and his cloth with a bone color. Use the same colors you'd use on scout Marines. That is if you want him to match your own dudes, that is.

Thankfully he is not in Ultramarine blue either but a nice grey coat and I like the armor pads being a different color from the coat. I wonder if there are stats for him in the witch-hunter rule book/Grey Knights as that's who he is pictured with on the page. He'd probably just be an henchmen, but would that be a laz-pistol or some kind of specialty crafted boltgun?

And at Brother SRM-5, I actually haven't done any scouts yet but I did paint him up, (Reaper paints) his boots are basic black, I used uniform brown for his paints, his coat is a faded Kahiki, and his armored shell has my layered Imperial Fist yellow. His pouches and belt are ruddy leather, the symbols are all done in brass and the tech is a variation between honed steel, adamantium black and gun metal. And I used Caucasian flesh for his skin. He is also the first time I have used the black the eye first and then the white and that turned out well I think.

I'll try to get some pictures of him up soon.

I believe he was in the old witchhunters codex,or Daemonhunters. He is not in GK,vbut might be in SoB.

His weapon is a Bolt Pistol,Navy Pilot Side-arm issue.I think.
