I like the unit names.

I wouldn't run an apothecary. I made the mistake of building 3 of my paladins as apothecaries and you lose so few models to attacks than Feel No Pain can save for that I just don't see 15 points per model in a 5 man unit as being worth it. Not when you could just buy another palasin for 55 points and save 20.

I don't master-craft my poaladin weapons and I think to master-craft them all is a bit much. The hammer, yes. Psycannon, maybe. I'd be tempted to run your paladin squad with 2 psycannon. Incinerators are great but paladins want to shoot and assault, they don't want to risk wiping out enough of a unit that they can't assault.

I'd also add either psycannon or incinerators to your purifiers.

You also need a psycannon on your strike squad and either an incinerator or a psycannon on your terminators. Unlike paladins, I think an incinerator is okay on a terminator squad as they only get one and aren't as resilient in assault.

I'm a bit worried about everything being on foot too.

Follow these two simple rules to ensure a happy Dakka experience:

Rule 1 - to be a proper 40K player you must cry whenever a new edition of the game is released, and always call opposing armies broken when you don't win.

Rule 2 - Games Workshop are always wrong and have been heading for bankrupcy within 5 years since the early 90s.

The Strike Squad was to fill up points. But I could kill the apocatherapy and get another Paladin and a psycannon for the purifiers. I could also kill the master crafted on some weapons and get a btter weapon. Do not have the points for transport. Crowe joins Purifiers. OWNAGE! Thanks for the comment about the names.

You really, really need to give your terminators, paladins and strike squad maximum heavy weapons allowed. And drop the apothecary. I'd throw a stave into the terminator and purifier squads too.

If I were you, I'd have a think about the various mission combinations and consider how your list will fare.

Everything bar the Purifiers and Crowe can deep strike and that might not be a bad option sometimes, though you run the combined risk of coming on piecemeal and taking casualties from scattering.

But basically I think the army is too slow once it's on the table. 7 kill points is a strong plus but the strike squad and the terminators will prove fairly easy pickings for most opposing armies.

If you really want to go all on foot then take Draigo instead of Crowe and go all deep-striking paladins and dreadknights. Not the most efficient, but probably pretty fun.

Otherwise if you want Crowe, I'd run more purifiers and get some vehicles, dropping the strikes and terminators (and maybe paladins too).

I noticed that you have Crowe joining Purifiers. Crowe can't join or be joined by any other unit so remember this when planning.

I personally think Falchions are only worth their points on models with Terminator Armor where buying another model is expensive but getting an extra attack is really what you wanted. Pre-FAQ this was a different story.

You might want to specify which equipment goes to your unit "leader" and if you plan on doing any Combat Squads. I tend to not put expensive equipment on my "leaders" because as they are the ones who take the Psychic tests, they are also the most likely to be destroyed on a bad roll. In that case, assuming you have that MC Daemon Hammer and MC Psycannon on that Paladin, you have just lost a lot of points to your own rolling and not to actual battle.

If you can manage the points, I like making my Dreadknight have both a Psycannon and Incinerator along with the Teleport Homer. This makes him very expensive but I have never lost my one Dreadknight. Since he is a Monstrous Creature, he can fire both weapons and the Heavy Incinerators rules allows for it to have a longer range (to match a bit with the Psycannon).

Other than that, I think its a good list. I didn't check your points costs as I don't have a codex with me and I don't know the size of the army you are shooting for. I play in the 1250-1500 point range.

Good Luck,
Flaim

There's one thing I don't like and that just that in 1500pts your HQ and the Paladins are literally a third of your army. If someone gets lucky with a Demolisher cannon or something you're going to really be hurting. If it were me I'd take more troops and numbers. Even basic grey knights are great.

As a fellow Gk player who uses a lot of paladins, I sympathize with you on the fact that you want them to be in your army.... but you really want to have transports for them honestly.. deepstriking is not the best way to get your paladins on the board: mishaps and getting shot to bits before being able to do any real damage in CC will just drain away a quarter of a point. I wouldn't suggest having 2 dreadknights; usually they get focused on the first turn, and usually they are going to be in cc with a deamon prince, or just burning out enemy infantry. I'd say one with a sword and a incinerator is enough especially for a nurgle army. Also, even if you are dealing with a deamon prince, there are force weapons: one of the reasons why GK are considered OP in some aspects...... Also, I would suggest making that dreadnought into a 2 TL autocannon with psybolt. It is a great to having some long range firepower so you could pop light tanks and some heavy infantry as well. Drop the terminators as well; though they sound good, they do die easily and as i've mentioned before, GK is not a deep striking army like BA. I find termis somewhat useless without a LR for them since they get focused somewhat and die way to easily.....

I would take a LR for the paladins with the leftover points from the dreadknight and the termies for your Paladin: get a golden moving bunker. Most players feel insecure with a LR on the board, and they will try to take that out first usually. I would also suggest getting some razorback with either TL las or las plas. They would provide the direly needed long-range firepower.

I would also suggest adding a librarian; Gk librarians are GREAT. They can buy much powers as they want and granting a unit(which could include him as well) Initiative10? With a librarian, and draigo with your paladins, you could potentially make them S8 monsters with draigo himself being S9 (1 might of titan + 3 hammerhand........) Even without draigo, they could be s 7 and that's pretty scary already.

I would rather take an awesome man who boosts your troops instead of a brooding little loner who taunts his enemies to hit him hard...... Also, i usually run my paladins with a banner plus all falchions; from the libby i get I 10(usually but not always.... that's just dice rolling luck), then I could get 4 attacks in minimum first and 5 if i charge.

Anyway, hope this long boring rant helped, and good luck to your game.

1500

I don't know why people complain about GK so much... It's just a game, and nobody complains about Mephiston... So why complain about Draigo?
