Construct a logo contest for The Black Ocean

We are The Black Ocean, a Sci-Fi war gaming podcast specializing in Firestorm Armada from Spartan Games©. This month, our inaugural podcast launches and we would like to hold a contest for all of our new listeners.
We are offering a reward of one starter fleet (or equivalent values in Firestorm Armada merchandise) to the listener who designs us a logo. This logo should embody Sci Fi war gaming, space, and Fleet action in general. Other than that the choice is yours.

Here are the rules:

Listener must register for our free forums at http://www.theblackocean.com/forum/

Entries should be JPG files of no less than 1024 x 768 pixles

The final entry must be original artwork.

Final file will be high resolution JPG or EPS.

I would submit something, but I'm guessing that MS Paint just isn't going to cut it . Can't wait to see what kind of cool looking designs come out of the contest, though!

What we liked about this logo was that it was simple and elegant and scales well on shirts all the way down to dice. We also liked that the "wave" could also pass for a spiral galaxy.
