I would look around on the forum for Ork tactica. Here is a good starting point written by one of our members: http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Dakka_Dakka_Ork_Takktica

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd
-Alexis de Tocqueville.

Running a Deff Dread and Kanz looks like you're half way to a Kan Wall.

Only one unit of Nobz doesn't sound like a Nob army to me :/

How many points are you building for?

Ork Deffwing FTW

I would try 2 warboss so you can have two big scoring units of nobz that count as troops.

Throw each squad in a BW with a deffrolla to give you some speed and the ability to deal with LRs.

At around 1000pts this should leave you with 2 warboss models two squads of FnP +5 invul wound shenigans nobz (at around 6 strong) and 2 BWs with a big shoota each and deffrolla.

Prolly not the best list but its a true all nob list that could be expanded with some nob bikers to keep the theme and is a good basis for a mech ork army.

Damn I cant wait to the GW legal team codex comes out now there is a dex that will conquer all.

Sounds like a fun theme army, but hard to do at 1k points. A typical 10 Nob unit for me runs 415 points, plus another 125 for a battlewagon.

You don't want to have to footslog with them, and trukks are junk transports, and only effective when used en masse. If you go first, they'll fulfill their purpose. If your opponent goes first, then they'll leave your nobs footslogging, with a couple wounds.

Let's look at the basic nob vs. a boy. +1 Strength, Wounds, and Attacks. For slightly cheaper(18 points), you can field 3 boyz. Would you rather have 5 S5 attacks and 2 wounds, or 12 S4 attacks and 3 wounds? The basic nob is inefficient. It is the variety of equipment and wound allocation that make them more viable.

Do you want an all Nob army? You have several options, none of which are very competitive, but they will be fun.

Jubear is correct, 2 warbosses, 2 battlewagons, and two 6 nob units would be around what you could purchase...You could run something like this:

60 - Warboss
60 - Warboss

315 - 7 Nobz, all with Cybork Bodies. Equipment:
Painboy
PK, Waaagh! Banner, BP
PK, Shoota/Skorcha
PK
BC
Shoota/Skorcha
Stock Nob
125 - Dedicated Transport: Battlewagon w/Deffrolla, AP, BS

315 - 7 Nobz, all with Cybork Bodies. Equipment:
Painboy
PK, Waaagh! Banner, BP
PK, Shoota/Skorcha
PK
BC
Shoota/Skorcha
Stock Nob
125 - Dedicated Transport: Battlewagon w/Deffrolla, AP, BS

At this point, you can drop things from the nobz if you want to upgrade your warbosses.

I would give those PKs to the warbosses just because WB has more attacks so its better bang for buck.

Agreed, but it was limited by points. The PK's will be around longer in the units. You can mix and match, it's just an example.

I normally run a warboss at 95 points. PK, CBB.
