Lieutenant Colonel

I am currently building a redgiment of city fighting imperial guard. (Adeptus Battlegrey Armour with Codex Grey cloth and white and black camo, Adeptus Battlegrey Tanks)
I wanted to include Sly Marbo as an option for my army, but I didn't think the metal catachan marbo from GW would look right.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I could make a decent looking version of marbo, which would fit with a cadian army?

Marbo is quite possibly the easiest model to make in the guard codex, i personally made my marbo from a spare set of the legs from the HWS box, a random torso, and two seperate arms. He is the model you can go nuts with.

Any ideas where you can get something in the cadian range to look like a demo charge?

An obvious option is buy a pack of catachen demo pack, lop his hand off and glue it to another model.
Another option would be to improvise. Use the loose missiles from heavy weapons squads as a ramshackle demo charge. Chuck 3 or 4 together bind em in green stuff, put an auspex on there to represent a timer and give them a hand to hold them.
A third option if you have ork Kommandos would be to yoink the TNT bundle being held by one ork.

When I first got started in the hobby the way the special characters were explained to me was that they were just rules. You can make your own model to represent them and you can give them a differant name, as long as the rules of them are the same. The supreme commander for my guard is Jarrin Kell, he uses the rules for the Lord Castallian.

I made mine with with a Cadian torso and legs, catachan head and arms. Specifically I used the Catachan arm with the big a** knife. I also took a grenade launcher, cut it up and glued the end of a bolt pistol on it for a ripper pistol in his other hand.
For the demo charge I use the back pack from the command squad box. I figue it's much easier to haul around a satchel full of plastique and shrapnel like soldiers do in real life instead of some silly looking, clunky, armoured GW thing.

1.) hard-shell tanker helmet (comms) preferably with shades. 2.) Space marine crux terminatus badge. Add it to the model somewhere as a badge of honor or something Barring that, I might suggest a shrunk-down vox-unit (gives the "kitted out" cadian look), with the det-pack stored under it, Give him a las-pistol that's been upgraded with bolt-pistol bits (magazine for instance... to make it stand out as a 'ripper pistol')... Give him the tanker's death's head pauldrons as well and that should do it. Alternatively, just use a Kasrkin sargeant. If he's bare headed just give him a forage cap, and strap a melta bomb or some other charge somewhere.

To glimpse the future, you must look to the past and understand it. Names may change, but human behavior repeats itself. Prophetic insight is nothing more than profound hindsight.
It doesn't matter how bloody far the apple falls from the tree. If the apple fell off of a Granny Smith, that apple is going to grow into a Granny bloody Smith. The only difference is whether that apple grows in the shade of the tree it fell from. |

Storm Trooper with Maglight

Actually the large round pack thats on one of the belts in the Cadian storm trooper kit can easily be seen as a demo charge. Or you could just say that you cant see it because he set it up when he was hiding and is just waiting for the right time to use his handy detonator. then all of the scatter is the enemy not being kind enough to stand where you want them to or him forgetting that he put it by the fifth pillar not the third.

Due to the fact that a demo charge is pretty much something explosive with something to set it off strapped to it, you can make them out of nearly anything.
How about a Lascannon power pack? Or a bundle or grenades?
I made mine out of an old metal catachan autocannon loader, and I glued a plastic cadian pouch to it. Looks pretty decent.
I saw one made of a drum mag with a tank step glued to it.
