Hi all, looking for some feedback on these two lists. Not loads different between the two just wonder what people would lean towards. Cheers!

Bloodthirster, BotBG, UM - 275

6 Flamers - 210

10 Plaguebearers, Icon - 175
10 Plaguebearers, Icon - 175
10 Plaguebearers, Icon - 175

Soulgrinder, Tongue - 160
Soulgrinder, Tongue - 160
Daemon Prince, Mok, Flight, BotBG - 165

1495pts

The idea for this one is to have the Flamers/DP/Thirster as infantry mashers. Plaguebearers to Tarpit and the 2 Soulgrinders on AT duty.

Bloodthirster, BotBG, UM - 275

6 Flamers - 210

15 Plaguebearers, Icon, Instrument - 255
15 Plaguebearers, Icon, Instrument - 255
9 Pink Horrors, Changeling, BoTz - 185

Soulgrinder, Tongue - 160
Soulgrinder, Phlegm - 160

1500

Similar plan to the first list but adding in the horrors with Bolt to aid the Grinder with tongue on Anti tank, while the second grinder, flamers and thirster do the anti infantry role.

Any feedback welcomed! WZ

I'd favor the DP over Horrors. Having 4 targets for enemy HW (2 MC, 2 vehicle) with a guaranteed 2 on the board first turn will give your opponent serious target priority issues. That's one of the main reasons I'm enjoying playing Daemons so far. The look of consternation on an opponent's face while they try and decide which monster to try and take down first is priceless...even more so when shooting finishes and your MC is still standing less than a foot away.

I'd also split the Flamers into two units of three. Not only could you work in 2 Bolts, but you'll have better odds at getting the ideal sabotage deep strike. I'd also say that 4+ flamer templates in one unit is a little redundant. In my experience, they can only hit so many targets once the first few templates take their toll.

I must admit I was leaning towards list one, as you said the ability to offer 4 large targets is very nice.

I see your reasoning for splitting up the flamers into 2 x 3 man groups, but I think I will struggle to free up 60points to take two Bolts however :(

I do the 2 x 3 Bolt-Flamers myself, but they are probably better suited to my list since I don't run 'Grinders (and here's my list). Anyway, I think you'll do fine without Bolt. Have you tried Fiends though? For 190 you can get a maxed out unit of Fiends and I'd say they measure up to (if not exceed) the Flamers in infantry-mashiness.

I did look at fiends, but a unit of 6 is a costly addition for me at the mo (Already own flamers). Also I think the templates may come in very useful for the odd suprise attack!

I don't blame you, they are real pricey. (Monetary cost of two Landraiders at less than half the points value = blechhh.) They're an excellent unit though. Flexible in any game type and can fit into any size list. I'd just say keep them in mind when you have the scratch.
