I have a personal project I am working on and I need a little help creating a blood effect. I want the blood to be dripping off of the weapon, I remember seeing something on dakka once about how to create that effect, but cant seem to find it right now. Any pointers?

Try mixing up some red paint or inkl with some old-style poly cement (the stuff that comes in metal toothpath-type tubes).
Use a toothpick to pick up resulting goo & place on model.

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

I haven't tried this but its something you can test.

lay on some heavy red ink, or very dilluted paint, then drip on some CA glue. the water makes it cure quickly and in my porevious experiences (though not on purpose) creates a dripping form.

you might be looking for something smaller though.

I have also had good luck manipulating like 5 minute epoxy. add red coloring mix, add with toothepick.

I think i'll have to experiment with it all as well. thanks for the inspiration, would love to see and hear how you finish it!

I actually just tried a 5min epoxy and the testors, neither were a no go.

you can make the bulk of any drops and spoting with either thick CA glue or PVA, and overcoat it with future mixed with a dark red and over that future with light red

I have heard of a product called UHU glue that can help acheive this effect, any one know what type and where to pick it up in the states, I can only find the "glue stick" kind

It's all purpose contact adhesive. There's probably a local brand. The trick is to put some on a fishing line and allow it to form droplets. These are then cut and glued to the sword. Paint with Tamiya Clear Red /Smoke mix.
