Hello people of the internet.

I am quite new to actually playing WFB but have collected around 1500pionts of dark elves and 500 pionts of vampire counts however as of today i have decided that chaos cannot be denied. out came £20 and in came the WOC army book. Ive wrote a basic army list of what im thinking of getting but would like the aid of some more seasoned generals to fine tune the list / bin it and start again. Sorry if this is the wrong area to post this i'm quite new to forum use in general.

the idea is that the warrior units move in. Sorcerer blasts everything in range. Cannon thins the enemy ranks and the maurauders catch units fleeing from combat with the warriors. Hopefully simple but effective.

I suggest get him some sort of shield. Maybe an enchanted shield and a biting blade since he will be in cc.

Thanks for the advice. However i can't seem to find a magic sheild apart from the chaos runeshield in the codex and as my chief opponent is a hordy scaven player and a bloodletter spammer who keep to the ,"fancy shield, or another half rank.......Half Rank!" Do bloodletters attacks count as magical? If not i might get the armer of morsleib and a biting blade and to even out the pionts remove blood and the maurauder horsmens spears. Oh and thanks for the help.

You also get fancy shield when you look in the brb right behind the different spell lores you get magic armor there magic weapons banners etc give that a look over.

I wouldnt worry too much about this points level when you start getting into larger games the small things will matter the biting blade isnt bad but not really needed its hey I have 5 spare points why not.

Give the war gear section of the brb a good read and then go from there.

Ah forgot about the BRB Items.

At this point level, MOT is not something you want to put on your GW Warriors. You're better off making them HW/S (6+ vs Shooting/5+ in HTH). With the points saved from the GW's, get marauders.

Also you can't duplicate the magic banners on your units. I'd go with something cheaper than the standard you've chosen too or combine to make 1 20 man unit and take the saved points and buff up your marauders noted above. Its really funny when you hit someone with a small 10 man unit w/ MOK and GW's. 15 S5 attacks are nothing to smile at

All Daemon attacks are magical.

Warriors should almost never get gw since they have great initiative and str 5 isn't bad with halberds.

Personaly I like my halberds with a flaming banner so bye bye regen and on non halberd guys shield mot rap standard is sick so is the war banner keeps em around for a long time.
