I saw 7 copies sell across 3 of the larger online UK stores last night whilst I was considering if I needed another one or not (I looked just after the post and was checking prices / adding to cart then left it for a few hours to decide and all three stores had sold out in the meantime).

(I did get one in the end from a small independent store)

I just posted the mail from GW. I don't know if it's really OOP or, as you assumed, it's just a standard text they send to customers (though it would be a strange one as they could just have said 'sorry, the item is currently out of stock, you get a refund and we'll inform you when it's back (so you can spend your money here again)').

I'd be happy to see Necromunda supported and the terrain available for a long time to come - the stronghold and the other ZM kits are really great. I just wanted to share the info I got.

And you should! More info = better choices. You were perfectly clear about the context in which you got that mail.

It’s mostly useless if they don’t sell the relevant zone mortalis terrain anymore… I guesss you can try to use sector mechanicus but it doesn’t look right.

Last nite @flgs for 40k nite I asked the manager If I could order them, she said according to their system it's NLA(which might mean reboxing/new sku#'s/etc) and not necessarily OOP. I checked the box my stronghold came on and it says Made in UK. So they could be shifting production from China to UK and then would have a different sku#, who knows?

Dryaktylus email is concerning and I hope not truly the case. But the writing is on wall for the ZM stuff, which sucks ambull testes.

Id Better buy a couple markets when they come out.

There's still Gang Strongholds available at miniaturicum.de but they were bumped to full retail.

I ordered ZM columns & walls and platforms & stairs (and the Nurgling...) too - those I'll get from GW. Just not the stronghold.

Might be that they're planning on reducing the number of SKUs, period, for the Zone Mortalis stuff and having larger bundles?

Just checked Alchemist's workshop after reading the latest replies to this thread - indeed they've sold the two that were in stock a couple of hours ago.

Well, the Gang Stronghold is kind of self contained?

It’s comprised of two unique sprues. Each set comes with (and requires four Sprue A. And some necessary build parts are on Sprue B.

It’s….its kinda hard to see how they could repackage that in any meaningful way.

I’m still suspect that Dryaktalus’ quote email was sent in error, and it should’ve been a “sorry, we’re out of stock at the moment”.

Because this is the internet, Dear Reader, that does not mean I am accusing Dryaktalus of telling porky pies. I have no reason at all to doubt the content of the email is exactly as he shared. My suspicion is purely the email he received was sent in place of a different email.

Time will tell. And Zone Mortalis stuff takes a while to come back in stock, so we may not know for sure for a couple of months or more, unless GW tells us more in the meantime.

Seems optimistic. I had planned on buying several xmas bundles last year but when the time came they were mostly rubbish and not a single one appealed. No AT, no terrain, no paint bundles, just a few 40k & AoS, all of which were pretty weak imo. I can't imagine them going crazy with sidegame bundles of any flavour, least of all terrain.

Indeed, last xmas was the first year I didn't buy any bundles. I don't think anyone was impressed with them. If poor bundles negatively affected sales, there's two ways it could go I guess. Make them better, or not make them at all.

Now that i think on it, the AT maniple bundles they released alongside the Warmaster earlier this year were surely meant for xmas but were pushed back due to covid. Those were way too good for a random midyear no-special-occasion release.

What I'm meaning is something along the lines of the Killzone sets. A mat, gang stronghold, and the barricades & objectives could be a good lil' setup.

Added myself to the panic-buying gang, since the Stronghold was still listed as in stock on the Canadian webstore.

I think FOMO is warranted when we're talking about the ZM terrain, which are some of the best products GW has ever released.

And terrain is one of those things GW really does just randomly discontinue.

I saw those I was just hoping people had thier own stuff I could draw inspiration from..
I have 4 heavily themed 40K boards and was building a killteam style zone mortalis board for narrative campaigns that represents entering an underground base/bunker… for a 3x3 board. (9 zone mortalis tiles)

Mostly trying to figure out the spacial setup of 1-2 strongholds, 4 walls, 2 stairs and try to figure out what I needed to purchase to fill a multilevel board 2-3 levels.

You want inspiration for boards? Go through Rapid Tabletop's pictures. Guy has made tons of custom ZM boards. Truly excellent stuff.

To sum up this thread, because it seems folk are close to bickering.

1. Right now, we have reasonable cause to believe the Gang Stronghold at least may soon be no longer available. This is based on an email GW sent to a Dakka Poster when they tried to order one.

2. Sadly, GW does indeed have form for just dropping relatively modern and really very nice scenery kits without notice.

3. Because the Gang Stronghold is a really sweet kit, and useful for Necromunda Campaigns and just general gaming, people understandably don’t want to risk it definitely going away bye-byes forever and ever. So they’re doing what they can to get what they need now.

4. I really don’t think anyone is going to be upset if the email turns out to have been sent in error, and in fact it’s just a “we have ordered more, just no idea when it’s coming back in, because have you seen the state of worldwide shipping”

5. It would be really, really nice if GW could at least clarify this nice and clearly on the medias of social.

6. It would be even better that when they do wish to drop stuff we have no reason to otherwise expect them to drop, to simply tell us in advance, and ideally do a final Made To Order run. Sure we might not get the goodies for an undetermined length of time, but I for one will take an undetermined length of time over the old “not get it ever”.

Back in stock in the UK doesn't mean it isn't going OOP, or that what was in the E-mail is wrong.

I've said on numerous occasions, GW drops terrain kits from the range without warning or explanation all the damned time. Sometimes they come back, sometimes they're gone for good.

We got a notice that one would soon be gone for good, so if you want to risk that not being true, then be our guests. If it turns out to be nothing, then everybody wins, but the rest of us aren't that trusting, so will get them now to avoid regretting not getting them later.

Not a hard thing to understand, IMO.

On that note Realm of Battle: Sector Imperialis has disappeared from the site, it was sill listed a couple weeks ago as out of stock... I had an order pending from Fantasywelt, got this reply from
them:
We are currently only waiting for the article "Realm of Battle: Sector Imperialis (64-28)" to be able to send your order in full.
Unfortunately, we have not yet received any feedback as to when we can expect an exact delivery date.
