Subject: Metal miniatures from Brazil. Take a look at these models (and prices)

Hey guys, i was looking for miniatures online, and found this company located in my country. They are pretty new, their models could not look incredible, but their prices are good (realize that 2,5 Real = 1 Euro, aproximatally?).
http://kimeronminiaturas.blogspot.com/2011/08/catalogo-kimeron-miniaturas-agosto-de.html (portuguese)
Download Catalogue - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GKJED979
Additionally, there is another company, a lot older than that here: http://www.wiccaworkshop.com.br/miniaturas-rpg.htm
Their models are not pretty "awesome", but they are cheap
Well, i just stumble on this, and decided to show people some companies of my country, maybe someone like them and one of those models turn into a general, hero or conversion for someone right?
We never know...

Most of the models are overpriced when you compare them to much higher quality models such as those made by Mantic Games.

Yeah, the only models i really like are those from wiccaworkshop, and only a small number of them, they all are in ankward poses, except for one or another... The Dark Knight Kmopotato showed is one of them (but i would replace the head )
There is better options around...
Meangreenstompa: wich model is that recast? I have seen a bit of similar models around, but never a equal one... Please, if want to say those companie have ugly products, you can do it (they have), but dont call them thiefs or pirates please (at least without proofs...).

Fro the locations and poistions of the horns to the contortions of the body, it looks tremendously close to the original Imrik, Lord of Dragons from the High Elves line. To this point, I'm thinking it's a recast:

OMG...
Yeah, that looks completely like a recast, a little modified in the arms part and tail, but the body and wings are a recast.
Now you can call them anything.
Im a bit ashmed here...
Even the scales on the head looks the same...
Thanks for it Absolutionis...

Sorry to say, even the arms are resculpts, and from the number of jags on the tail 'spike', it's the same. You don't see as many scales on the tail and arms because the molding quality is rather low so the detail is obscured.
Same everything.
Regardless, thank MeanGreenStompa. He's the one that first called it.
Personally, regarding GW enforcing its IP, I stopped caring. GW deserves it for C&Ding Raging Heroes's amazing Lammasu and re-releasing their trash half a year later.

Don't take it personally.
There are plenty of British people that hate on Games Workshop on a daily basis. Plus, as an American, I hate on Privateer Press's design choices all the time.
The prices aren't "absurd" by GW standards. 92BRL is 57USD.
GW is selling the same model of higher quality plus a rider (minus the eye-gem) for 57.75USD. A remarkable coincidence.

Had a look through both catalogs. It's probably an even better deal when you consider the prices of shipping to Brazil.
However, for folks in the states, who like vintage style figs, I'd go with megaminis. Figs that are as good or better for less $. and they also have a great sci-fi selection.
http://megaminis.com/
The service is great too. Warning, you have to really dig through that site. There's alot of good stuff and also alot of really dated figs and they're all mixed together.

And talking about shipping, order minis from states or europe is cheaper than order thing from inside my country o.O

Notice the gems in the dragon's eyes? These "pewter dragons" are meant to be sold as statues not as gaming pieces so they didnt expect any stoner "looking for a cool dragon statue" to realize.
You find stuff like this all the time in those "head shop" stores that like to sell Faery posters, occult statues, gems, wind catchers etc., etc.
I remember seeing such "pewter" recasts of various companies fantasy stuff all the time.
