So I got some really bad Finecast Wracks. I've talked about them in other threads so I won't rehash their utter acceptableness again here. I go thru GW Customer Service, and they say they'll send new ones out to me. I get the email saying the order has shipped on the 16th last week. This week I start obsessively checking my mailbox as ship times tend to be really short anymore. Monday, nothing. Tuesday, nothing. Wednesday, nothing. Thursday, nothing and I'm starting to wonder what slow arse method of shipping they used. Today, 10 days later, I get another email reminding me that my order has already shipped, and oh, here's a tracking number you can use to track it. They don't tell me which shipping service they used, and the number that was supposed to be a link wasn't. I put the number into USPS and UPS before it finally worked on Fedex. According to that, the Wracks only just got sent out and shipped today, 10 days after they told me they shipped. If that first email hadn't lied to me and said there was some delay or something with getting them out I'd be fine. Then the new email lieing again saying they had previously shipped when they were only just today shipped. Now I'm even more annoyed and those replacement Wracks had better be up to their advertised quality this time!

Free Shipping good.....full price bad. Maybe if he didn't have to pay sales tax and ordered some of the GW exclusives....otherwise meh.

Yeah, they use FedEx standard now. I have no clue why, but the number they give you should link directly to FedEx's site with the tracking # information in it. It takes a few hours for FedEx to update anything though.

So they took longer than you expected them to take? Somebody probably screwed up and sent you an email saying they already got sent out instead of an email confirming "Yes these things will be sent out" - frankly, this isn't anything worth getting into a fuss over, nonetheless starting a thread over.

GW is a company. Sending out an incorrect email with regards to a product being shipped should not be accepted from any professional organization, and the fact that the shipping was so slow especially for a replacement for a defective product only compounds on GW's fething up.

That's weird. GWUS has always been brilliant. I've honestly never had a problem with them. Have they changed the way they do shipping, because to Oz it was lighting fast (like, 36 hours fast).

Read the first e-mail closely. Are you positive that it said they shipped? The first e-mail I get from GW when I place an order there usually just notifies that the order was processed or something. I was in the same spot as you once and then realized I misinterpreted the e-mail.

I still can't wrap my head around anyone ordering directly from a GW site. Do you have an aversion to 20-30% discounts?

I don't see anywhere in the OP stating that he bought direct from GW just that he got a replacement box of wracks from them...

People are always saying they don't mind the price increases, so it comes as no surprise.

It has oft been said e'en on this very site such things as, "GW are so good a brand, I would willingly give them my vital organs, anything, as long as I was able to continue playing my beloved game!"

I will keep buying from GW but you'd have to do some real convincing to get me to give up the 20% discount I can get from my FLGS, and that was before the price rise.

I couldn't find where he said he bought them direct from GW. Any time I've had a problem with something I've bought from the Warstore, or Miniature Market, I still have to go through GW customer service to get a replacement.

In my experience with ordering directly from GWS US, they tend to send them out either the same, or the next day... odd.

Indeed. That darned honesty streak even costs me money occasionally when I correct cashiers on change or point out an item they didnt ring up.

Anyways, I won the Wracks from the FLGS as a tour ament prize. Called GW for their replacement policy, and got the email saying they had shipped. I double checked and the email indeed explicitly stated that they shipped on the 16th. They did not actually ship until the 26th. As I had originally thought, one shipped it took them all of three days and I got them on the 29th. I need to dig up the finecast flaw thread now, but I'll also say it here;

The first Wracks I got were garbage quality. Worst that I can ever remember having gotten. The replacements they sent me are nearly pristine. They've not made it to my work table yet to clean the flash off, but just looking at them on the sprues they are so far above the first ones. Theyve got some small details that I didn't even realize was missing on the first o es. No one is missing their face, no pieces of the mold suck in eye sockets, and no random pieces of plastic bisecting models front from back. If all their kits come out like this then they're fine advertising them as superior quality, as even if they're not the best they're close enough for it to count as mere advertising hyperbol that everyone does.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
P.S. The only thing I can remember having ordered from the GW store direct in the past years were large oval bases for some Nid conversions, as I can't just grab those from the FLGS where I get everything else.

I had to admit, I laughed.

Indeed. First batch had the two headed guy missing Both of his faces, and the leader was missing half of his. As a result, I filled in the faces on the rest to match, and will do so on the new box as well, giving them all smooth featureless masks.
