Hello everyone!

Me and my friends are aiming for a 1000 point army each and i decided to go with trukks. I have no experience of how to use them so some tips on that would be awesome.
Other than that, my planned army list is this:

HQ:

HMek with KFF and Eavy armour

Big

Total: 90

Elites

10 Lootas 150

8 Nobz
2 Big choppas
2 Poweklaws
2 E´avy armour
Shoota/skorcha
Painboy
Waaagh! Banner
Bosspole
Trukk

(all of them have different gear so that i can abuse the wound allocation )

Total: 470

Troops

3*12 Boys
3 Nob leaders
3 Bosspoles
3 Powerklaws
3 Trukks

Total: 441

It all reaches up to 1001 points wich my friends are ok with. I paint them in the Goff clan colours so red paint job is a no go. My opponents are Grey Knights, Necron, Imperial Gurard, Eldar, Deamons of Chaos and Chaos Mariners.
I plan on attaching the Big Mek to my Nobs and utilizing his KFF on the trukk he is in and 1 other and the remaining two i will use to flank their army if possible.

Good list there.

Many people don't invest anything extra in their KFF Big Mek. Stat wise, he's just a nob that can be singled out of a mob in CC. By the time you've made it that far, chances are, he's done his job.

I would remove the 'eavy armor off the Bog Mek and the two nobz, and replace that with 3 x cybork bodies for the nobz, particularly both your PK's. I know that 'eavy armor is a better chance, but they already have FNP from the painboy. Anything that ignore FNP will almost ALWAYS ignore a 4+ armor save as well, so it's good to have that invulnerable save. Most try for CBB on all their nobz.

I prefer my trukks to have RR's. Some like BP. These are probably the only two upgrades that are worth putting on trukks. Keep them cheap, I've had a SINGLE marine pop my trukk at a range of 23" with his lousy bolter. Wasn't that a round of laughter!

Thanks for the tip! I switch the E'avy armour to CBB, but isn't the BM kinda important too? When i win a melee fight the opponent can fire all their guns on the nobs for that round. So would't it be good if he survives in the nob mob? Anyways, how should i use the trukks? Should i try to tank shokk the enemy and jump out, or assault with the boys and leave the trukk?

Trukks are for getting your boyz krumpin ASAP. After that, you start tank shocking and shooting with the trukk if you can.

With Reinforced Rams, I run them into cover terrain, like forests, craters, whatever is available, and this allows them to get away from the Big Mek's KFF. It depends on the setup, completely, but if everything is spread out evenly, it often works well.

Thing is, like I said, IMO, when the boyz get out, the KFF has done it's job. He is important, but if you want to, deploy him behind everyone so he can't be targeted in CC. PK, Burna, or not, HQ's typically get singled out in CC.

If the Big Mek is with the Nobz, he still has FNP, either way, so that's something. I can GUARANTEE that your Nobz+Big Mek trukk will be the primary target. You might want to drop a boy, throw the BM in THAT Trukk, and take the extra 6 points for 'eavy armor if you wish. This splits up targets so your best units aren't all in one basket(trukk).

It's all strategy and tactics. Honestly, this is something similar to what I run at these points. With friendly games, I'm often running a Warboss instead of KFF Big Mek. Not as competitive, but it's a friendly game, and I'm out for having fun!

Charge in and krump, me lad!

I agree with everything that has been said. Also you may want to edit your post to take off the point values for every bit of gear as you not suppose to post that stuff (GW can get annoyed if you do). Goffs can have the red paint job just put some red blood on the front and say he ran over someone to get the bonus. Although I would rather just have RR to keep those trukks cheap as they are gonna die no matter what you do. The only other thing I can think of is to split those lootas into two 5 man squads to cover more area and split their fire. Remember they have a low ld and no bosspole so a couple of wounds and they are running off the board it's better to have a few boyz run than a big mob.

Yes, but for me, that's where RR come into play. I'll split away from a KFF and go for terrain cover.
