Good?

(I know the hq is somewhat odd)

HQ:
Shas'El, TA, HWMT, CIB, PR (Centurion)-110
Body Guard 1, MT, AFP, Flamer-64
Body Guard 2, MT, BC, Flamer-52

Elites:
3x XV8 w/ TL MP, Flamer (Death Rain)-141
3x XV8 w/ MP, PR, MT (Fire Knife)-176
3x XV22, 1 FB-92

Troops:
6x FW-60
10x Carnivores, 6x Hounds-106

Heavy Support:
2x XV88, 2x A.S.S.-160
2x XV88, 2x TA-160
1x Railhead, BC, MT, TL, DP-170

Fast Attack:
3x Piranha, FB, 2xTA-205

1496 if my math is correct.

Does it make sense? My normal style is WAY different so I have no real way of kjnowing.

Not a bad list IMO

first why the CIB the odds are against you and if your depending on the rend you dead and your rails will do it better a BC with give you just as many shots WAY cheaper.

second flamers are pointless unless your saving points they amount to a last ditch effort before your assaulted because of their 12in range

third the issue of kroot if you really need a big screen then they are fine but if you need anything to eat CC or a second troop option then just get another 6 man fire warrior squad its cheaper even cheaper than a full kroot squad by 10 points and they armor! wich gives you more to use elswehere

Fourth the FB squad of crisis suits Id advocate either a hammerhead or broadsides if your needing tank killing power

The FB isn't crisis suit, it is stealth suit/

And CIB doesn't have as powerful shots, but if I am shooting into a guard blob I'd prefer more hits.

Most of the rest is good advice I may use.

CIB is less consistant against T4 and up while a BC is more likly to work Im talking in terms of over all usfullness sure against eldar and IG T3 its great but against marines if no 6s then it wont do much so tailoring T3 army sure its fine but over all theres better options for more balance.

then drop the FB the steath suits dont do well except agaist light armor and hordes once again in terms of overall use more XV8's will perform better of snag a piranha they will tank hunt much better

Centurions are 100 pts, not 110 (thus the name).

AFP Flamer and BC Flamer are terrible for bodyguards, unnecessary troop-killing that can be done by lesser units. I would suggest bladestorms, which would go with the centurion quite nicely.

Also, you are heavily lacking in troops. How do you expect to win an objective grab with a minimum unit of fire warriors (w/o a devilfish) - and a small unit of kroot (and kroot are very weak). I would get rid of your piranhas and get many more troops... possibly a fire warrior team in a fish.

Beyond that your list looks fine.

Alright, I get what you're saying, and now the "centurion" name makes a lot more sense.

With the super horde-killy HQ, I built it for anti-horde, since I noticed there is absolutely nothing in my army the would be able to demolish a green blob/guard blob and the CIB and AFP could be taken by HQ only due to special issue. I don't know if I was a good Idea, that was just the thought process that lead to it. I considered the Blade storms already (though I prefer their alternate name, blinding spear) but I thought it would be redundant due to then amount of Str5 AP5 already in the tau list.

For piranhas, I was considering replacing them with PF w/ warfish. Good idea? Rail rifles?

As for troops, my FLGS usually only plays kill points.

They only play KP?

Just do a Farsight Bomb with 7 HQ Guards..... Load them up with HWMT, TA's and PR/MP combo.... comes in around 1100 pts and add 3 DR's and 2 6 man FW squads in Fish.

Put the fish in Reserve.... Put the DR's in the corner.... Deepstrike the Bomb..... Most likely you will never lose a single KP in 6 rounds lol....

If your concern is Blob Ig, I'd go with:

Centurion
2x Fireknives w/ TAs

Firestorm (3x)
TL w/ TA

Firestorm (3x)
TL w/ TA

Fireknives (3x)
TL w/ TA

I'd then cut down to bare minimum troops (2x units of 6 fire warriors)

I'd get 3 hammerheads (cause submunission loves IG), and then get hazard suits for your AT firepower (or just use piranhas...)

I've never played a competitive IG player, sadly, but this is what I'd try out... and I'd find it perfectly understandable if you think this is crap advice.

It's actually fairly decent advice, I'd say.

Only two things:

Blob IG is still guard, and I will still need the sheer anti-tank ness of XV88. I think the best way to get some pie plates down would be Hazard suits with Pulse submunitions rifles, but I may be wrong, since it is already common knowledge that Railhead plates are quite handy.

And what is firestorm? Flamer FB?

you could try to air burster against the horde player ive found though if the IG arent charging you and you have nutralised their vehicle support its over you ca JSJ in to your range attack then back out of their range and grinde them down even in cover. if you want to tailor against them a bunch of flammer hitting their lines at once will work but they will be vunrable to even a small amount of survivers

I cannot see you winning an objective match, ever.

Drop the A.S.S on your Broadsides are take Gun Drones instead, no sense letting them get ID's too easily.
Your second squad of Crisis Suits are undercosted by 10 points.
Drop the Bodyguard suits, turn them into regular Elite Shas'ui which are far cheaper for the same stats.
Give the Piranhas Devilfish a Disruption Pod.
Any leftover points should go into getting more Troops.

You brighten my life like a polystyrene hat, but it melts in the sun like a life without love, and I've waited for you so I'll keep holding on without you.

Don't ask why, because I don't know why, but we don't play objective at my club.

As for the A.S.S. Without them my broadsides are kinds stationary :$ I have learned from experience not to leave it out.

Thanks for pointing that out. I think I used the price for BC PR suits there instead of MP PR suits.

As for the bodyguard, my elite slots are already full, and having them as vre's makes them able to take wargear=I can take TA and HWMT.

Thanks for the vehicle thing, I hadn't noticed that I forgot that :$

So I am definately going to fix the D-fish and suit price thing.

Undecided about the rest. I was thinking bonding knives for my suits.
