10 points over, but we're doing friendly games right now. Also, I'm looking for advice on taking this up to 2k. I'm thinking just bulk up on troops with more Berzerkers or basic CSMs.

Feel no pain...

If you want advice? take out the zerks and replace with something else as your paying 21PTS!!!! per model, for an ork in power armour.

And the lord take out replace with a prince with lash (its the same points count and....better).

I'm aware that the Lord isn't as good as another prince, but damn I can't pass up using that beautiful model. Besides, this list is semi-competetive and not WAAC.

Berzerkers are one of the top troop units, and perhaps one of the top units in the entire codex. They may be a tad expensive but they hit real hard.

Plague marines are better, some may say one of the best in 40k but that's for another day...

They might be better point-for-point, however that's situational, same with Berzerkers. It also depends on playstyle.

Necrons, Marines and Orks are the only armies I really fight.

Marines= okay.

Necrons=mint.

Orks=Dont bother.

Just my two cents but on the prince replace doom bolt, with warptime and give it wings.

It already has warptime and wings. I just forgot to write wings in the list.

It's just a general all-comers list to be honest, not tailored for any one opponent. I'll probably be facing Necrons in my next game though.

Yeah with the prince I usually put mark of nurgle warptime and wings on him, that make a cc monster.

or you could use the double lash prince combo...

Just my two cents...

The vindicator needs daemonic possession.

The landraider is too expensive for what it does. If you do use it, you need daemonic possession.

You need personal icons on the troop choices to allow you to deepstrike without error with the terminators.

The terminators all need combi-meltas. Twin lightning claws seems excessive.

Ten plaguers is expensive. You can get the two special weapons in a squad of 5. I'd say take 7 and save some points.

Power fist on the skull champ is expensive. I prefer PW.

I personally would go without terminators, because of cost. Then it would make sense to slash out the landraider (no need for transporting) and the personal icons (nobody is deepstriking), all for additional savings. I am working on a list with triple dreads, which seem cheap for what they do (arm with bolters in case somebody rolls a 1 on crazed).

Good list for the most part, were I you I'd bulk up the infantry numbers to take it to 2,000pts, model count looks a little low.

Berzerkers are not power-armored Orks by the way, they lack the Ork's primary weakness in CC (I 2), they have WS 5 and S 4 on their profile, and they can have plasma pistols and can hit with them. All very important.

Plague Marines can take enough of a punch that you don't need to run a 10-man squad, leaving them at 7 would be better.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

.

They are also fearless, which means they don't run away after taking a lot of casualties and they don't get swept after breaking and running.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll take some into consideration when building the 2k list.

Main points:

- Drop the PM down to 7.
- Daemonic Possession on the Vindicator and Land Raider.
- Give the Terminators combi-meltas or drop them entirely.
- Personal Icons on various squads for Termicide.
- Power Weapon on the Skull Champion.

I think I'll do the first two, but I quite enjoy having the little Terminator beatstick. Sure, it isn't the most amazing melee unit, but it does lay down more than enough hurt in friendly games. They're mainly there to complement the Lord who can keep on dishing out those Daemon Weapon attacks (I must've rolled at least two sixes for that last game) making them very good infantry killers at best, a distraction at worst.

Personal Icons.. they're a lot cheaper than a LR, so if I dropped that and added another squad of Terminators, the Icons would become very useful.

As for the Power Weapon... well any good melee unit needs a hidden powerfist and Berzerkers do that very well, four strength nine attacks lays down the hurt. It also helps with vehicles and ICs.

I might run an additional Berzerker squad with a PW to test it out though.

Thanks for all the input so far.

Ok so they have a higher BS and a higher I, is that it? for 21pts a model for me its still not worth it.

Sure, compared to other units of similar cost in newer codeces, they're not amazing. But they're still very effective in game.
