Started the hobby less then a year ago and this is the bulk of what ive been painting.

Tried my hand at a counts as Pedro Kantor using a Reach captain.

My first armor kitbash, a 1/32 scale WW2 Hetzer that i bought for $11 off ebay.

This is the last thing I've been working on, still not done due to the bitz store shorting me on the champ head......the last time I buy just sprue, the tastiest part of the command squad and they shorted me. Going to use a vet head with the laurels on it, unless anyone has a better idea.

When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

Good work, but i think you should add some highlighting to really bring out those colours.

Your metal work looks great, and i agree with Far Seer. Some highlights, would make a great improvement. Especially on the flesh.

In regards to the head for your champion, could you use some green stuff on another head?

Thanks, I need better/finer brushes for the highlighting, the brushes i use now are not good and every time i try it its too wide and looks bad.

And my whole army is silver now even the old tac marines, I was lazy and painted over them instead of stripping them.

Hopefully soon I will start a new army, with a better paint scheme. Kinda wish i would have stayed with the Ultramarine
colors...blue was easier to work with thern the metal for a beginner.

I especially like the dark ork skin! Could do with a little highlighting though, not too much though, you wouldn't want to ruin that nice dark shade of green.

That vindicator kitbash is acutally pretty sweet. It's not exactly Space Marine looking, but it certainly looks like it could come out of the 40k universe.

There is nothing wrong with your brush skills imo,we can't all be michaelangelo(not the turtle). My only advice would be to get some washes on them.

They all have washes on them. Really regret doing it on some to be honest....the red heads of the sternguard comes to mind.

Although your greenskins are a bit dark for my tastes some of that shading is really inspirational. The Boss looks especially awesome and I'll be knicking some of your ideas for my own boyz, thank you very much. Something about your work seems a little flat for some reason so I can understand the comments regarding washes -- that's the usual culprit. Maybe be a bit more generous with the washes and take your fellow users' advice regarding highlights? The sternguard heads you mentioned would really benefit from some high lighting, for example. Same goes for your chappy's black armor. Also, do you thin your metallics at all? I tend to go for lots of thin coats with metallics as if I was painting with white or yellow (alright, maybe not as extreme as that but you get the idea).

I actually really like your painting, for a first army you have done an amazing job. things to work on will definitely be highlights for flesh for sure, although I do like the dark and dirty look the orks have.

As far as what you said with the wash on your stern guards heads, I think it turned out pretty nice, if you're worried about it darkening it too much try another regular red dry brush coat to pull the raised portions out a bit more.

Over all though, great job. Whats Next?

@ Manchu, Castitus, Shingouki, and MEandBob- thanks, Will do on the highlights.

@ Manchu i do thin the chainmail with water and reaper dry retarder but the Libby and the champion i drybrushed, washed with badaab black then redrybrushed with P3 quick silver....which is what i intend to highlight all my stuff with.

Not sure if anyone has used the (P3) Privateer press paints but i really like the pack i bought off ebay...cheap too.

Some progress I made on the champ. Not sure on what to do on the powerblade need to look up a tutorial. It kills me how bad my min's look with the super macro settings, in person a 6 or 7 outa 10 ....with my photo skills i make them look a 2 or 3 outa 10.

A friend of mine bought some second hand Tau that were in bad shape, so I told him I'd give it a go and scrape the three layers of flock glue and salt off of the bases. I did and started to try to find a decent scheme to throw over them. These were badly put together the mold lines were all nasty and the paint was thick but i tried to find something that would kill the caution orange paint job. So these are work in progress not sure what the third color is going to be or even if i like the purple.

I think the red heads on the sternguard look great. I've found that brown washes over red or blue really do look good.

The orks look nice and dirty.

I kinda like the tau too, maybe black for the third color?

Some updates to the tau. Not the biggest fan of the way they turned out, going to blame it on the fact that they are repainted

Some progress I've made on the Tau. The battle damage was not my idea as these were the used ebay special, but i did the best I could
The kroot turned out really well, I'm happy with them. That never happens. 20 more fire warriors are ready for the paint as soon as it comes in the mail. I used P3 jack bone as my base color.

A friend bought them on ebay and asked me if I would paint over them for him as he has zero time....learning how to be a doctor leaves little time for Ebay repaints. I did them in two weeks give or take a day. Im sure he will base them and be selling them soon.
