HOW TO MAKE ARCO-FLAGELLANTS

So i don't know about you but i thought the sisters of battle are a really cool army and i have always wanted to play them....... but there was only one problem... THERE SO DAMN EXPENSIVE! so im going to start some threads telling you how i made certain SoB models pretty cheap =)
So as you'll already know if you read the title my first topic are going to be The Sisters of Battle Arco-flagellants.
These models are relatively easy to convert but i recommend trying some skills out on other models first if you a beginner (admittedly i haven't done much converting myself).
So here's a picture of my almost finished product (unpainted) i will update this post once i have painted the model =)

(see picture 1)

For this conversion you will need the following:

-1 box of Empire Flagellants
-1 pair of pliers
-1 plastic glue
-1 sculpting tool
-10 Warhammer 40k round bases
- some "green stuff"
- some patience

So to make this i bought myself a box of Empire Flagellants which contained 10 models for the bodies of my flagellants.
I started of by building myself 10 pairs of bodies on round bases and glued on the heads. (see picture 2)
Once that was done i put a thin sheet of green stuff over the head and moulded it to the head with a bit hanging down the front.
I left that to harden slightly for a while the moulded it into the shape of the actual Arco-Flagellant hood and used a sharp pencil to draw in the visor.
Once done i left this to dry and once dry got a flail from the box set and cut off the handle (see pictures 3 and 4)
I then got two arms out of the box set and used a small blob of green stuff to attach the flails to the arms at the wrist.
I then glued the arms to the body in a dynamic pose and was finished with the modelling! I think they look really great and again; I will update this topic when i have painted the models so please tell me what you think! I even welcome critisism and also tell me how you think i could make them look better and what conversion you would like me to put up next

How many flails come in the Flagellants box?

Are there other bits (torches, scrolls, etc) in there that have a Ecclesiarchy feel to them?

You should post some more pics, of the finished (but unpainted) models.

Great idea

My only suggestion would be to use the bodies of vampire counts ghouls, as they would look better IMO. You'd still be getting 10 archo flagellants for a lot less then buying 10 metal ones(not to mention you can get different poses on them)

Might try this some time, will be watching to see if plastic sisters are makable.

So do a tute on them next

I think about 8 flails come in the box but there are lots of flames and scroll (Even a guy who set his head on fire!) but the only problem is making them look like girls :/
But even without flails you can make great flagellants!

Well there isn't anything that says an arco has to be female.

Archoflagellants don't have to be female, they can be either, as they're heretics made into loyal frenzied death machines until they're killed in battle(if my SOB fluff is up to speed).

Any luck figuring out how to make budget plastic battle sisters? Now that would be handy

Yeah, the flagellants aren't Sisters. Sisters get the Repentia treatment when they misbehave, not arco-flagellation. They're just random heretics performing their penance by dying horribly in incredible amounts of pain while taking down other heretics with them. Fun!
