So my friend dared me to make an Ard boys list without a single gun in it. This is my attempt. I don't play nids (well I play them alot but I don't have them) so if something is illegal please tell me. Play style under list. Here goes:

Ymgarls will be hiding in the middle of the board so there's nowhere safe to run. The Swarmlord, Tyrant and co. would hide in cover (hopefully out of line of sight) turn 1 and try not to get shoot up too bad, everything else is outflanking (genes, warriors(hive commander)) deep striking (Mawlocs) or doing there thing (ymgarls). On turn 2 everything comes in on a 2+. The re-roll outflanking sides thing is really helpful. I made this list because Genestealers scare the bejezus out of me and the Mawloc rules seemed really cool and they go together pretty good. c and c please.

If you're going for a large CC warrior squad, then I think that a mycetic spore is needed. You have hive commander on the tyrant anyway so +1 reserves.
Not a fan of triple mawloc lists. If you want non-shooty then maybe go for raveners from the FA slot with rending claws. 1 mawloc should be fine.
I think stealer broods need to be bigger and have toxin sacs at this level.
HQ choices seem a bit too close in use for me and don't really fit in with the overall reserve style list you have. Why not go for a flyrant. He can D/S himself while still getting the +1 reserves.

I was thinking about the flyrant thing but I looked in the codex under wings and didn't see anything about deep strike, is it implied or did I miss something? I have to disagree about the mawlocs, I mean they are mcs with six wounds that just pop up and destroy s**t without mishapping, I like them in the list because they draw attention away from other more dangerous things. You're right about the stealers. I don't know about the warriors tho, they can't assault out of spores and I'd have alot more synaps controll over the mawlocs if they can come out of the board edge with rerolls. They're really only here because I didn't want to waste the hive commandars other section and I needed more synaps. Good ideas tho thanks for the help

Tyrant with wings is jump infantry and jump infantry can deep strike as per the rulebook
Honestly a Mawloc isn't that good, once they arrive they will be shot to gak and die. Only really good against mass parking lots and then it's 4+ to even glance. Btw Mawloc can still mishap is landing on impassable terrain or off the board.
The Warriors can outflank thanks to hive commander  I definately wouldn't put them in a Pod. However truth be told you just don't need them. All troops and elites have their own synapse and the HQ are synapse creatures, so just the Mawlocs who will deep strike and die quickly anyway.

I'm going to stick with the tripple mawlocs because three t 6 w6 aren't going to die too quickly and if they do it means people went shooting at the hive tyrants/genestalers who are more dangerous. But I will be taking out the warriors and putting in more genes with toxin sacs also flyrant. new list in a sec. thanks for the advice

I know you love the swarmlord for his epicness/+1 reserves but your basically spending 400 points on him, which he will NEVER earn back, especially when a cheap unit of lictors or even deathleaper will get the job done in that regard for almost 1/4 the price. Id get rid of the swarmlord and grab another flyrant with double talons as its cheaper, and is a more immediate threat. I would just move out a ymgarl for a lictor squad, and add another regular genestealer squad. Personally I also prefer adrenal glands over toxin sacks as it allows you stealers to be able to glance an armor 14 if you rend followed by a 5,6 as well as making you strength 5 on the charge against infantry so in my opinion its more versatile then being able to wound the nightbringer on 4,5,6 instead of just 6, which is alls you would get with toxin  .
Oh yeh, and 2 mawlocs is enough to distract/eat a tank and you could use the extra points to get yourself more genestealers.

Toxin lets you re-roll to wound on MEQ. The MCs should be tankhunting, not the genestealers, so its not that important to glance AV14. And on an all reserve list that +1 from the swarmlord is really, REALLY important - along with the reroll on which side you Outflank on. Plus, with Hive Commander he can outflank as well (dont have my codex so not sure if he gives the +1 from reserves). I might drop a squad of yealers as well for something... not sure what tho. Trygon + Trygon Prime to replace 2 Mawlocs?

semi new to bugs but does the +1 on reserve/ DS rolls stack ? cause H tyrant with hive commander and swarmlord both give + 1 do they not ? if they dont stack whats the point of both ? sorry if this is and obvious answer or dumb question but im curious.

Yeah I think you're talking about scything talons, toxin sacs are 4+ poison. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also don't think the swarmlord is only for the +1 reserve rolls the other half of the ability is just as importent, it takes the chances of you get the side you want for outflanking from 66% to almost 90% that's a big diffrence when you have 850 points of nastiness popping up on turn 2. Also have you ever seen the swarmlords stats he's a freaking beast slightly less powerful then the freakin nightbringer. "Who cares gabe he's gonna get shoot to pieces before he even touchs anything blah blah blah" shut up, that's the point, this whole army is about getting people to shoot at other things besides the genestealers who givin enough time will eat just about anything. Anyway he's t6 with 5 wounds and two tyrant guards he's not going down easy.

With poisoned attacks if your strength is equal to/bigger than their toughness you get a reroll. Gives you 50% more rends, yay!

Ask yourself what's more dangerous, three big ass monstrous creatures about 3" away or a Hive Tyrant and Genesteales which may or may not assault this turn. I know what the answer is.
New list; Genestealers don't need adrenal glands, toxin sacs only. Raveners need to be bigger units, try 5, and have two units. Raveners are awesome. The rest is cool.

glands are for eating transportsa and crushing eldar/de/slaanesh/force halibards and the like, I agree about toxin sacs being better but I have both because I have such great controll over where they show up that I can get the best of both worlds

Glands will only let you glance vehicles instead of auto pen thanks to rending, not a huge amount of difference. Genestealers are I6 so you will strike before Eldar and Dark Eldar I think before Slannesh stuff as most of it's I5 and you will strike same time as halberds. The re-roll to wound against infantry is better = more rends.
