I've been a member of this esteemed community for a while now and I think it was about time to show some of my own work (which isn't much ).

The first mini I painted :

One of the Paiting Starter kit, the one with 5 Ultramarine minis (damn you sculpted shoulder pad!). I was SO proud of it...until the folks at the local GWS pointed out the horribly thick paint all over (I painted straight from the pot heh). Nearly broke my heart but also motivated me to do better....

This was the result :

I'm not convinced about the micropen lining. I used it again on the AoBR terminator squad, but I think for the next ones I will try other things.

Terminator :

There's a few spots I haven't touched yet and there's no additional seals/etc. Not sure which colour I should use on the remaining areas. Additional shots of them are available in the Gallery. Bolters aren't drilled, I lack the equipment and I'm a bit scared of messing them up Regarding bases I will deal with them once I decide the overall theme of the army.

Termie Sergeant :

I'm not happy with the orange-ish skin, I think I went overboard with the Ogryn flesh wash. The power sword is meh as well. As with the termie there's a couple more shots in the Gallery.

Termie family shot :

I really enjoyed working on the terminators, wider areas and somewhat less detailing than power armoured SMs. I did not take care of the mould lines because I'm afraid of damaging the minis and I really really wanted to paint. However I think I'll take the rest of the Ultramarine test slav-err-volunteers and go to town on them before I start the work on the main White Scar army, it'd be a shame to leave them on, the white really makes them pop.

Speaking of the main project itself.....

3 Ravenwing boxes, the MUST HAVE for any self respecting biker, that box is just orgasmic in terms of content. Of course that also means that I'll end up with a crapload of Ravenwing/DA iconography I will have 0 use from, although I think quite a bit of it might work as Sisters of Battle decorations. Lots of angels, books and those bike tail "wings" might work for Seraphim/Celestine in some way...

Commander box for Kor'Sarro...I'm still working on the concept for him. I wanted to try a Finecast Ravenwing Jetbike conversion but that kit is nowhere to be seen. I'm leaning towards either a dynamic pose to represent Furious Charge and Hit and Run (with a heavily modified bike/trike, I'm a big fan of the Can-Am Spyder) or a dread base with him standing beside the bike overlooking the battlefied, commanding his troops to keep the option of fielding him on foot if ever needed and yet still have the bike shown. I'm still looking for some binoculars and heads/helmets to add as headhunting trophies, I'll probably use a few provided with the GW basing kit as well.

Command Squad, that one is a no brainer. They will be nasty : LCs, Storm Shields, MGs and the Company standard will be displayed, if only because it's damn cool The LCs were a pain to find, they're one of the reasons I went with the Assault termies box in the first place. More on that later.

Space Wolves Pack...what? I wanted a more tribal look for my army and the Space Wolves looked to fit the bill. I'm not too impressed with the heads, but I LOVE the helmets. The power armour sized claws were a welcome sight as the Assault Terminator LCs were too big.

Couple of Forgeworld special weapon packs, some Ebayed bikers, 2 speeders and a Drop pod for the AoBR dread.

The Sisters of Battle were gathered over 6 months or so. They were my initial army crush, but I put that on the backburner while waiting for the new codex. It finally came and given the costs of metal even on ebay I will keep it there until the plastics are released. I think what I already have will keep me busy long enough anyway.

In completely unrelated news, I still need to finish the Gundam as well, the decals and held weapons

That's it for now. I don't think I'll be able to do much work this week as I'm in the middle of the night shift week but I'll try to keep updates rolling. If I don't, feel free to yell at me

This is going to be one sweet White Scars army I agree with using the space wolves parts for them as well. Seems to fit their mongolian style quite nicely. I tried using the pen as well but it didn't work out to great for me :( Looking forward to see more great painted minis

I vote for Furious Charge and Hit and Run pose. I don't think Kor'Sarro is one to hang back and let the others do the fighting.

Keep up the good work! Not too many White Scars armies out there

That was my initial thought as well but that is also why I'm thinking about going the opposite way for a change. Maybe I'll do both eventually haha!

In any case I need to get a few more things in order to start, most importantly a saw and the all important blu-tack to get those poses going. I have many ideas for dynamic poses but I need the tack to try them out...Can't believe I forgot to get that.

I realise now I forgot to take a good picture or two of the assault marines squad I have in the corner box. It's got a finecast jump chaplain to go along with it. I've tried to model them in combat with extensive use of superglue and bits of sprue, will post that tomorrow.

The micropen...works fine, it's just that my hand is far from steady and I ended up with a couple bad lines going off on the termies. Maybe practice is the key here...

White is so hard for me for sum reason, I have an apothecary been sitting ready to paint for some time. I love the scheme but im not sure why...maybe because its different then most. Good job will be watching from afar. Subscribed.

One Canoptek Scarab in a Swarm

White Scars! I'm in the same boat myself, sitting on 5 Ravenwing battleforces, with another two on the way. Those battleforces are the best deal I've seen from GW, I literally have enough bits from the battleforces to bury a carnifex. Looking forward to seeing your bikers, might inspire me to do some painting of my own!

@Deathshead420 : I followed Lester Bursley's White Scars tutorial to paint my Scars. It's an amazing tutorial and Lester is an awesome painter (I drooled all over his blog here) and while my result is nothing compared to his it's an easy way to do it imo. In fact my colour scheme is taken from him as well. I thought it was a great variation of the White Scar base.

@Alfhedil : 7 Ravenwing battleforces O_O...That's....that's...beautiful! I might need another box to complete the current army plans, although in the end I think I might go for a display of the complete 3rd Brotherhood.

Speaking of which, is there any actual record of the roster of the 3rd Brotherhood?

Jetpacks ahoy!

I wanted to display this one as jumping back John Woo style bolt pistols blazing with the jetpack compensating. I think it kind of fails to convey that...

Every time I look at the sergeant I picture him yelling "KILL THAT ONE!" I didn't have the Terminator Storm Shields when I put him together so I will probably get rid of the tiny combat shield and give him the large SS from the Assault Termies.

Another "fail" pose, there's nothing epic about this one. It was the first one I put together, I guess it shows heh.

That's the second one I put together. I was cursing at his legs that put him in an akward pose and then my eyes met a piece of sprue...The result? A rather boring pose, but it made me try to come up with better stuff.

Atlas, the AoBR dreadnought. HERESY, I know. I wanted to paint him though, and doing him in the colours of another chapter seemed a bit silly. Also, given the loyalty to the Khan and Emperor of the Scars it wouldn't be that far fetched for a fallen White Scar to desire to return to the battlefield and get revenge. Of course that would also cause his former brothers to view him with a mix of awe, horror and uneasiness, not quite shunning them and yet respect them greatly.

At one point I was pondering the idea of sticking a bloodied grot in his "hand" to add a bit of character to the mini.

A couple more angle shots are available in the gallery. Next update will probably be next week after the 3 (THREE OMG) days off I have been graciously given. Can't wait to finally tear those boxes open and probably scream in horror at the MOUNTAINS of sprue that will result of all this

Maybe a Whitescars Dreadnaught is really a Bikenaught...

Good god it's been oveer 3 weeks since my last post...Time flies..

I have absolutely nothing to show for it too...Damn life getting in the way of things. I did break open a Ravenwing box and put an attack bike together. Not sure if I'll glue it up before painting it or do it in pieces.
First test for the command squad biker is good, the Termie SS fits just fine on the hand that holds the handlebar. I almost ordered those awesome FW siege shields but I reckoned I had spent enough for the time being Still, those are really awesome and I will most likely think of something to use those in the future.

@Rawson The Bikenaught...that's a really scary thought...and one I might embrace. I saw a quad conversion off SM bikes, that might be a decent base for a sawed off dread torso to glue ontop

More on Kor'Sarro : I want him to throw himself off his bike like there's no tomorrow with sword in hand. The problem is I need an epic sword. The finecast Emperor's Champion is good and has a very nice shoulderpad to boot, but the way it is held isn't very dynamic. I did notice the Vanguard finecast two handed sword and I think that might just do the trick. I'm still looking though, especially towards WFB, there's some really sweet swords out there.

I'm not dead....just...slightly comatose
