So my friend plays a draigowing list and I need to learn how to kill it. He has destroyed me easily the last four games and I just was wondering if any fellow wolves out there would have any tips on how to take out his knights. Automatically Appended Next Post: So no one knows?

I play Eldar, but I can try to help you out. The mainstay of Draigo wing seems to be a big squad of Paladins with FnP attached to Draigo (probably a librarian with shrouding too (because GKs are dicks) Then the rest of the troops filled out with whatever. Ofc, Paladins are ridiculously expensive, and vulnerable to instant death and generally only have a 5++ invulnerable. On the other hand, Draigo adds a ton of durability as well- since he has a 3++ and doesn't get 1 shoted by the likes of las cannons. You should outnumber him by a lot to a little, and if you stay out of range of his 24 inch psycannons, a large portion of his army will just be sitting there doing very little of anything for the entire game. Focus on knocking out his fire support and mobile units. Psyflemen dreads, etc. Both because they offer up easier killpoints then paladins, but also because they are what will most hamper your maneuverability. Then just try to get more objectives then your opponent or deny the paladins as many kill points as you can. I mean just try to avoid the paladins as best you can. They aren't particularly fast, and they don't have great range. Your friend is paying through the nose for a squad that has second to none durability, as well as a boatload of high initiative power weapon attacks. If you have to engage them them make sure that the squad isn't in cover (no 3+ cover from shrouding) and enough shots to put wounds on other models than just Draigo with ap1 or 2 instant death attacks (some squad with a lot of melta guns or combi meltas for instance). Don't fire small arms at them- otherwise he may be able to wrap the big hits back around to Draigo and small arms is next to worthless against 2+ fnp 2 wound models. don't even try to assault them with space wolves- the s10 hammers will rip up dreads, and your instant death wounds will be allocated to 4+ invulnerable sword duders. Don't forget that any non power weapon attacks will effectively be ignored.

I destroy all the support units with my long fangs and focus fire my Las/Plas razorbacks at the paladins. Eventually the paladin death star starts to lose steam as it starts to take casualties.

One vote for shooting it a bunch and then hitting it with logan and a squad of terminators. (Sorry, that one is too hilarious to ever, EVER let go.)
Beyond that, start hitting it with anything that is S8 AP2 or better and can inflict more than one wound at a time. One meltagun to the face gets put on draigo, two meltaguns to the face gets one on draigo and one on something that matters. Or you could pod in a WG squad with 10 combimeltas.

I've found a round or two of my vindicator pounding on them from cover has a tendency of ruining their day, especially when supported by my PC wielding long fangs. The PC's won't instant death them, but it does wound on a 2+ and forces them to take their 5+ saves. they don't last long. But in general I just focus as much fire as I can on taking down the squads 1 at a time. If he's a threat I pour it in.

You will probably have a lot of missiles. While they aren't good vs paladins, they aren't terrible either as at least you can instant-death them.
Pump missile and melta firepower into the paladins. That will wound on a 2+ and ignore FNP, so you just have to get through the armor/invulnerable, and it will instant-death them.
Draigo will probably save the life of the first 2 or 3 terminators though, by soaking hits.
Also don't waste missiles trying to shake dreadnoughts, they will likely not care. Melta in the backfield is the best way to deal with psyflemen as far as I can tell.

Kill them by volume of fire. SW actually have an easier time against paladins because of the volume of fire they can put out. Not just volume of small-arms fire, but volume of S8 insta-killing firepower. Missile-spam, lazorbacks, meltas and then power fists in assault. Heck, even massed grey hunters can do some damage with 2 meltas each, banner, MotW and a wolfguard with combi-melta/pfist, though you'd probably have to give up your transport for this configuration. Then you've also got what I refer to as Wolficide unit, that is, 3-5 wolf guards with combi-meltas in drop pods to destroy something important on the turn they come in and then get slaughtered.

terminators aren't the best choice because paladins will be striking at I6 so you have to really crank the point value of the terminators up to give them storm shields and such.
my thoughts
-Vindicators are horrifying and can blow away an entire unit but you have to play cat and mouse with the 24" range
-Dreads are actually pretty effective if joined and that squad has no librarian, the dread WILL die in 1-2 rounds of combat unless his hammer is unlucky but he does help out bringing the paladin count down which is sometimes worth it to get the total count down so you can start overwhelming.
Basically look through your codex and look for things that are S8+ and AP 1-2, then for AP 1/2 , then for S8
Missles are effective but plasma is better, melta is better than that because it can instant death pallies
