On a boat, Trying not to die.

I can't tell if the fist one has a massive chunk of flash on the top, or if it's designed that way.

Either way, these models... Aren't exactly the prettiest...

Am i the only one who constantly feel underwhelmed by Hi-Tech miniatures? at first i thought thats cool. i'll keep an eye on them. But their quality doesn't seem to be improving and there just seems to be somethign kidna meh about them that i can't put my finger on. perhaps cause they look so static or chunky? still not sure really

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

Ill agree. Seems to be some potential, but they just miss the mark. Many of them seem to take a bad GW feature even farther. More junk added to a mini is not "detail", its just more junk...and these guy take it over the top. There is so much going on it actually takes away from the total effect instead of adding to it. Its like those cars you see driving around with all the stick on scoops and vents...junk makes it look cluttered and trashy.

Personally I think these are damn good models. To me they easily capture what the Adeptus Mechanicus looked like(Or were supposed to) in the original Rogue Trader book. Now if they are not too pricey I might be interested and does anybody carry this company's stuff in the UK?

Definitely detail overload. I'm having a hard time making out the figures through all of the crap piled on top. And that banner has so many gears that a steampunk character would tell him to tone it down.

I like the general body of the minis but yeh they're very crowded and the weapons don't do it for me.

The bit sticking out of the sergeant's halberd at the top is just awkward and unnecessary.

The power claw things are so big they'll drag along the ground if they let their arms down. The model looks lopsided like he's being weighed down by it.

And the banner is way OTT with the gears thing. How does that even work. what the..

Still, they're not too bad overall.

I was going they aren't that bad and with a couple tweaks to the weapons could look good but then I saw the pricetag. They're terrible, for similar prices you can go and get so much better models.

No - you're not the only one. Those are some chunky mothers!
Way too much detail as well - you can't make out the profile of the dudes beneath.

Having a ton of cogs on a ripped banner makes no sense. These are high tech people, not scavengers.

The "blade" on top of the staff of "One" looks really out of place and awkward. I agree it looks like flash.

Outside of the barrels and the magazines, the guns really don't look or feel like guns. They're just boxes with stuff on them.

+1 for folks who like them. Sure, they're not perfect. But the mass and most of the basic elements are great. Me, I'd GS some of the poor detail off the side of the stormbolters, for example. But they're about as good as Scibor- and much more importantly they fill a really cool and needed niche in AdMech armies.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

I really like them, the only thing that I think could use some work is the heads. But that's quickly remedied.

Beyond time and space

I kinda like them and with some modifacitions I could use these either as Iron Warriors or Iron Hands But why the heck have they used old GW skulls in the techno-banner? The uppermost skull is from an old Hero Quest skeleton (ugly as f...), two skulls beneath it are from old WHFB skeleton box and the small skulls are from plastic Space Marine miniatures, I think. The skulls don't serve their purpose and could have been easily left out or sculpted to fit the theme. Makes you wonder what else is just borrowed... If you're using other companys products then at least have the courtesy to put some effort not to make it obvious.

I came, I saw and I'm still playing.

Sorry for brining up all these oldish topics

They now have a War Pastor. Some type of chaplain-esque mini. Still looks too busy though, so many SKULLS!

My first impression of the Bio-Tech Covenant guys were that they looked a little busy, but could be a great addition or foundation for a counts-as Ad-Mech army. After checking out the web site and seeing the price (about $30 per model), I almost laughed. $150 for a squad of 5 terminators, no thanks. I'm not sure how the price is justified, when you can get equally well-sculpted models from somewhere like Scibor for around half that price.

Everyone who has had a negative opinion of the work has stated clearly why? SO why is that a case of "Haters will Hate"? Seems like someones education didin't stretch into the realms of "Discussion" and "Counter View-point"

Personally, I dislike these models, for the following "Hater" reasons

The form of the miniature is buried under heaps of redundant detailing! At this scale painting that detail will be a massive ball-breaker, and at a standard 3 foot distance will appear to be a mess or if toned down, will not be seen at all. IMHO, as the miniature gets smaller, the sculptor has to reduce the detail and use other "tricks" to make the miniature stand out. An example of this:

The miniature appears to be quite detailed ( I own this mini) it's actually not that detailed, but because of the relatively open surface area, there is a lot of scope for a painter to really go to town with shades and tones, and those painting techniques will ultimately work in concert with the sculpt rather than against it.

Man down, Man down....

GW will be up on thier jock soon enough.

Me? I like them off handedly. Not jumping out of my pants happy, but they are going to be great for those guys that want Adeptus mech.... er... Gearheadz. For thier game of " Warhell?"

I want to hear more about that, instead. "Warhell?" that had a great big bag of WTF written all over it.

Never heard of it. Why do the guys for... "Warhell" look like guys in a game I used to play called Warhammer 40K? Too many wars to be running around trying to push the envelope.

I'm all for someone trying to make a figure that you can use in another game, but to take an entire range, and try to push the envelope for all it is worth, and doing it and failing.

Nice guys, but all of the other stuff in the mix doesn't do the effort justice, so it justs ends up coming out like a bad joke.

Might have been a good concept, once upon a time, but with the choices of figs out there these days? This is like peeing on your head and telling you that it is raining.

I'd get one or two for laughs, but not anything past thier first range of ...... Gearheadz, and definatly not the space marine knockoffs.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

With good reasons that terminator's head is a GW skeleton head.
And that's not the only recast part I've seen in their work.
