I've always wondered how many pots of paint people usually have; I try to paint better than tabletop-standard, and I use 35, though I think its too many and i don't use some of them too often. How many have you got?

I bought the Citadel Mega Paint Set recently for dirt Cheap and I have some double ups so I have all in all 94 paints. This is only including Citadel Paints if we were including Vallejo and PP I have in the excess of 150+ and yet I still am not that good at painting -.-

I just made a quick estimate - and my oh my, how my collection has grown without me realizing just by how much...

All in all over 50 now, spread out in Vallejo Model Air, Game Color, Model Color, Extra Opaque, Liquid Gold and GW Foundation and normal range - phew :-)

And thats not counting the Additives, Inks and Washes...

I'm a paint whore. Well over 200. Full line of VMC, VGC/GW, and foundation paints. Some triads from Reaper Master. Smattering of P3, tamiya, model master, and humbrol. Are we counting tubes of oils? : D

I have to many. All gw paints...at least 1 of each and sometimes more. Also most valejo paints and recently got the entire reaper line plus I use golden and lots of addatives.

so why did you buy o many pots of paint? or are you planing on improving to a very high standard? Well i know from personal experience that you wont use half of the pots if you dont paint seriously and have too many. So i paint seriously xD

I only had around 40 paints to start with but I saw the mega paint set for £40 so I bought it

Ive got 21 Citadel paints, 3 washes, 1 foundation, and 5 Vallejo paints

Like 20-30 paints., as I'm quite new. Only Citadel paints.

I don't know the exact number, but it's defintiely far over 70 and it might be over 150. Mostly craft paints, but there's alot of Reaper, GW, Testors, Polyscale, etc. I'm not a great painter, most of my paintjobs are just blocked, dipped and druybrushed, but I like to be prepared for anything, and when you're buying mostly craft paints that cost 1-2 bucks for 2 oz, there's no reason to be stingy with color variety.

It also helps that I've been doing this for the better part of 2 decades.

I've got too many as well. Probably around 80 though I've begun switching over to P3 from GW paints. My collection has everything from GW, P3, Vallejo and Reaper. I only regularly use about 20 of them - others just sit there gathering dust.

Why? Why would you make me go take stock of all my paints? Okay give me a moment... okay.. 50 or so different pots, after tossing out the ones that have no hope of being brought back to life..

1 from gw, its bleached bone.

However I have a dozen little bottles from walmart includeing one that is the same color as bleached bone at twice the volume for half the price.

Actually the weird thing is I have some 20+ year old paint pots that are still good. They are the old school pots that sealed nice and tight and never dried out. So it's no wonder I have 100+ pots.

well thats a reason!

I have nearly 1k of 1 or 2 oz. paint dispencers of various types, brands and sadly, ages. Nearly a fifth are oils.
