So the local GW is running a painting league that starts at 500 points and increases by 250 each week. I want to use my Ogres because of the new book(and low model count ). I don't have to use the models as the league progresses, but I'm probably going too so I won't have to paint too many models.

To start off(only need a min of 2 units):

No room for a Butcher in the 1k list?

Can only have 25% heroes, so he'd have to axe the bruiser to get a butcher.

Yeah, and only a single lvl 1 or 2 at low point games usually just becomes a PD/DD dice off. Not to mention that Butchers are only Ld7.

I also don't really like the lore of the maw on a single level 1 or 2. Since you'd need the buffs.

Yeah, I'd wait until a level 3 or 4 SM is available to get a caster, just so you can guarantee at least some buffs being available.

Plus Bruisers, for their statline, are an absolute STEAL.

I'm playing in your league and am doing Ogres also.

Going to run a Butcher instead of a Bruiser, but pretty much similar to what you're doing.

T5, no save? I've found I get 1 use of stubborn, then die in the 2nd round. I'd like like giants to work, but they just drop too damn fast.

Too bad nobody gets lore of life and giants (giants only in Orcs, Warriors, Beast, and Ogre books). That might make them suck less.
