Hi, everyone. I could use some help. Most DA lists is see online are either Death or Ravenwing. Honestly, I may do those at some point, but I have a ton of Tactical Marines and I don't want to waste them.

So, can anyone help me come up with a good Tactical Squad loadout that takes advantage of the DA benefits? I've got 10 Termies and 2 RW battleforces, 2 Ven Dreads, lots of other vehicles (Vindicator, Rhino, Pred, Razorback, Land Raider Crus). But the Core Troops, I need help with.

Anyone have any advice?

Thanks!
Mark

DA power armour troops are expensive for what you get, so you have to maximise their advantages, as you say:

5-man squads can have Special Weapons (probably meltas or flamers -- get them a twin-linked lascannon Razorback too). I quite like the 40-pt Rhino with 2 storm bolters too (basic 35-pt Rhino + 5-pt extra Storm Bolter).

Rites of Battle for Leadership 10 throughout -- make sure you have an HQ who gives this if you use tac squads (Sammael on speeder can be a good option if you're going for a heavily mechanised army).

Consider using a mix of tac squads and Deathwing or Ravenwing, so the tac squads babysit home objectives or otherwise work in support of your more specialist troops. Sammael and Belial both give Rites of Battle, and are actually very decent HQ choices for the points anyway, so even if you just have 1-2 squads of Deathwing or Ravenwing as well as your tac squads, you're getting good value.

Command Squads can be effective uses of your power armoured minis, if you add some bling (green stuff robes etc.). Likewise Veteran Squads. Give the command squad a pair of meltas or plasma guns, an apothecary, and a Rhino. Give a vet squad chainswords and maybe a small number of other special weapons, but keep them fairly cheap.

Oh, now this is exactly what I was needing! Thank you!

With 55 robed DA minis, it's hard to not use them, you know?
