Finally finished the whole project. I'm not the best painter, nor do I have the time to invest in becoming one, so I try to do my best to get my mini's to tabletop quality. Without further ado, here we go!

Woulda been cool if the bikes were shooting down a pass and the rangers were up on a cliff side too. But still, I really like it. Definitely second seeing more of the army.

how did you make the diorama

LOVE IT! I have wanted to make one for my SM kill-team but have never gotten around to do it nor have none how to make the diorama look effective!

What a great Idea to do one for a kill team. That is something everyone should try their hand at. Making the big ones can be off putting to some but making a little one can help them find out what it take to do a bigger one. Great idea! Appears to be clean simple color choice, always a winner. Nicely done man, thanks for sharing this.

Exactly my thoughts Vyper! It was too imposing to do a full display board for my army, and I have been getting into Kill team a lot recently (40 minute games? Hell yes, that's time I can spare). So getting practice while making something that I could be proud to display? No brainer!

Making the display board was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. I went out and bought a little frame for like $3. Removed the glass and the backing. Measured out a piece of foamcore board, and slapped some thick cardboard on the bottom. Styrofoam rocks, painted, sanded, gloss varnished, and flocked. I made sure to leave some room on the edges so I could glue it to the frame. I didn't trust the glue to hold it to the frame so I also pushed some frame nails in the bottom to secure it.

Oh and the bikes are magnetized onto their bases, so I attached a little piece of metal on the tops of the rocks so they sit right on top.

I recommend everyone making a display board for any size army. It's a great way of finishing off a project and it draws the eye much better than models on a shelf.
