Interesting idea to give a Big Name to the BSB. Only says you can't take magic Items if you get a magic standard, nothing about Big Names, so that's clever.
I don't know about 2 Ironblasters, but that's me.

Actually, I think that's pretty killy. An ironblaster is a great Cannon strapped to a monster right?

Yah. It's super killy. It's also much more expensive than a Great Cannon.
The entire Ogre army list is dual-purpose. Basically everything is [something] + Close Combat abilities. But you pay for that in terms of point cost. Great cannon is 100, HellB is 170. Sometimes you just want the specialized abilities. If they don't have any war machine hunters, it's not such a big deal having a buff combat cannon.

Ironblasters are nice, they are actually more likely to bounce properly(2 artillery dice and choose highest) and they are 50% less likely to kill themselves. it only has a 16% chance of completely killing itself, 16% chance of not being able to fire for the rest of the game(but you still have a chariot) 33% chance of not firing next turn, and a 33% chance of turning to face a random direction and not firing(not a big deal because its move and fire)
It also has Str10 grapeshot and, due to being a Chariot and not a Warmachine, can Stand and Shoot.

It can stand and shoot ? I don't know about that... does it not say that it fires like a warmachine?
I like the list a lot. What formation will you run the bulls in?

Nope, it fires like a Cannon, which doesn't have Slow to Fire in and of itself.
Warmachine is a unit type, which has Slow to Fire, an ironblaster is a Chariot.

I ran a similar list this weekend against an Empire opponent that took 3 cannons 2 mortars and a steam tank pluc flanking outriders and blocks of handgunners.
Yeah. It was an ugly fight. He squeeked out a victory but I had a sabretusk and lone surviving mournfang just sweep down his left flank taking out warmachines and attachments like the tasty candy they were.
Rolled a 10 on my charge into his command block and my surviving 6 ogres (5 on the front rank) wound up with an awesome 12 impact hits then proceeded to make paste out of the rest of the unit causing a route off the table.
Hellheart caught 2 wizards. That was the best 50 points I ever invested in an item.
Hindsight. I would have focused everything on the steam tank until the darn thing was dead because it handed him the victory.

What I love is that my unit of gnobblars made it across the field and wiped out his warmachines on the left flank. It was hilarious.
Saturation of targets. He was too busy shooting at my big block of ogres and ironguts and mournfangs and thundertusk....suprised us both.

Sounds promising . I'm not so sure about focusing on the steam tank- but I agree, you either have to go all for it or ignore it and accept the losses it will give you, and try to tie it up for most of the game.

50pt. one use arcane item. All enemy wizards within d6x5" must roll on the miscast chart. Note that it does not say that it causes a miscast, only that they must roll on the miscast chart. Any items/abilities that affect rolling on the chart work as normal (rerolls, etc). It's debatable whether it would work on Teclis but it wreaked some havoc when a wizard blew up and took about 8 or so troopers with him.

yup, its basically a one use way of getting past Cupped Hands, Throne of Vines, and Teclis. You also get DD for each wizard that is affected.

I'd try to fit in a gorger somewhere. At 3K, the small percentage of points it costs in relation to the overall total means that it is a great buy. The effect of being able to come on from any board edge has a SIGNIFICANT impact on their deployment and will likely net you a few warmachines if played properly. In the games without warmachines, he can still get at wizard bunkers and the like.
I'd probably drop a bull from each unit to fit him in or some command from the MFs.

I like the idea of a Gorger! The last time I faced Ogres, I thought his disrupting my movement made him the game's MVP. At 3k it should be easy to fit in somewhere!

I don't know, Gorgers kinda got nerfed.
I would rather get some Sabretusks in the mix before a Gorger. they are faster and don't have Frenzy so I have more control.

It doesn't matter if they are better or worse than before. What matters is their usefulness now.
They are extremely useful now. Importantly, they come in on a 3+ their first turn (T2). The frenzy means nothing, because get to voluntarily place them and I hope you'd put them near a warmachine. Unbreakable is a huge boon. Charge something in the rear and hold it up. Maybe you die next turn (their turn) but you get to advance up a unit into charge position next turn and there's not much the enemy can do about it.
Sabertusks are LD 4, so have trouble marching into the backfield. They also only have 2 wounds and cause panic on your army. Sure they are cheaper, but they don't come off any board edge and have unbreakable. Again, they aren't faster, when you're placing your gorger right next to a warmachine behind the main line. Frenzy isn't a problem when you want to charge anyway.

This is the major problem I've heard, too... makes them hard to take unless a hunter is in the unit. (Can't use the general's leadership, right?)

With running them singley they won't be taking Ld tests unless they get hit with a Panic spell and I can keep them more then 6" away from each other. They are much cheaper then Gorgers too.

Gourgers are a cheap way of saying, "you can't flee from this combat without dying."
Even when you don't have warmachines to hunt, a gourger in the back can threaten to charge a unit that fled, and move it back closer to the oncoming ogres.
It puts your opponent between a rock and a hard place. That's worth the points.

For the points, I'd rather have another mournfang. I played them and I was charging artillery on my turn 3 anyway. Could have been turn 2 but they ran into an outrider speed bump.

I might try gorgers out in smaller games. we just got a Finecast one in to the FLGS so I might try it out(don't have any) just to see how effective it is.

Their only benefit is if your opponent deploys his more fragile units, lone wizards warmachines etc in a more readily defendible position from which they can do less damage besides that gorgers are just awful

I'm with Tiarna. From my experience using them, they're terrible. They're designed to come on the board and then wipe out artillery or single characters. The problem with that is that they won't be on the board before your second turn and by that time you're already in close combat...
