What's you opinion on them and are they viable to use effectively?

I love skorchas, but the whole ork army can do anti-infantry, so TL-rokkits is generally the way to go, IMO.

Agreed. They're a heap of fun for attacking light infantry, but:

- the rest of your army can also do that pretty well

- if you don't wipe out your target, they'll probably counter-attack and smash your buggy next turn

Sometimes Ill take burna buggies(skorcha upgrade) in singles and run them with a unit of boyz. Ill zip them forward and either block off areas from an enemy unit, or move them up and burn em, dropping 1 or 2 in the process. Its a poor mans bait that almost never works, but every once in awhile someone will have a brain fart and go for the cheapO buggy instead of the unit behind it. And if the unit in question does manage to beat my boyz unit, then the buggy is still there to harass them further.

Skorcha Buggies are awesome. They're great for harassing infantry camped on an objective. As long as you don't present the Buggy as the ONLY thing your opponent has to fire at, chances are he WON'T.

Which means your 35 point Buggy keeps zipping around and causing mayhem. If your opponent DOES shoot at it and take it down... well that's shooting that wasn't aimed at one of your Kans or your Boyz, so it's still a win.

Yeah, but the TL-Rokkits have range and can threaten armor, so I feel the rokkits are generally better. I've run a skorcha similar to above, you can hit them with the skorcha then assault with infantry and keep your buggy safe. Tactics.

I want to get a couple just for friendly games, but in a competitive environment Rokkit buggies are definitely the way to go. They would be SO much better if they could launch flamer templates like that one IG flamer chimera whatever it's called, Bane wolf?

Yea, its a given that normally a rokkit buggy would be better then a burnabuggy, but they can still be useful when used right, specially against armies with 4+ or worse saves
