Hi, people! I was thinking to build a fast semi-mech BA army which would be able to solve different battle tasks against armies with lots of ranged units (like tau or maybe eldar) for 1.5 k points. SO what would you say about the following list?

HQ
lib witg plasma pistol

Elite
1 Furioso with a drop pod

1 sanguinery priest with JP

1 sanguinery priest with plasma pistol

Troops:
1 10 people tactical sqd divided between 2 razorbacks with LC, twin-Plasma Gun, melta bomb (2 groups will be accompanied by Lib and a sang priest)
1 10 people assault sqd + Powerfist, plasma gun - will be deployed via deep strike with a sang priest
1 5 people scouts with 4 sniper rifles and a launcher (to seize objectives, support fast attack units and etc.)

Fast attack:
2 Baal predators with HBolter sponsors (being scouts they will be used to fast attack with a Furioso during the first turn + supported with sniper-scouts)

heavy support:
I would take Whirlwind if the map would provide enough cover to hide it during the deployment
Or i could take vindicator if i have enough points.


So that is my list! What would you say about it?

Tbh all I see useful in this list are the dual Baals

Let's take it from the top shall we

A ba list should be ether mech or doa with exceptions of less competitive builds

And for future reference never tailor a list its unsportmanship-like... At least that's the vibe I'm getting

Libby with a pistol is a waste your going to fire something more useful

Priest with a pistol again is not worth 15 points otherwise fine but priotize ether mech or Doa not both

Furioso is ok but without talons your throwing a kill point away best save him for fillers

Tacs are rubbish I can't imagine them being useful in a ba list

For asm if your going Doa give them a second special it's nesscary, might as well as make them meltas that's what they do... Otherwise stick them in razors with a las/plas, twin asc, or twin las they are the best options and are essentily free with the asm discount

Scouts are crap they don't do what they say they're going to do well, ether make them ten man or leave them on the shelf... Ether way they're crap in my books

Baals are great the best I've seen in this list, best you post if they have asc or fsc preferably the first

Whirlwind is utter crap... In any codex, read the ariterlly rules, then read them again and see why that's a poor choice

In the other hand Vindicators that are fast and carry a sth 10 pie plate at a threat range of 36" is a win in my books, but they work best in pairs or triod

So my final thoughts of this list are: crap scratch it and restart sometimes it's best

Any final advice I could give would be don't solo anything cuz it's just ends up on your opponents list what to blow up next

It seems to me that you were fixing your list to destroy a ranged army

But from what it looks like you have made an all comers list

I would add something like an honour guard with meltas. Wow, I know I have mixed jet packs with tanks. Or actually a drop pod would work.

Also your furioso will die. It lands in melting distance from the enemy and does nothing for a turn.

This new list is a world away from your first. You could build a competitive list that more closely resembles your first.

So what would you add to my first list to make it more... competitive?

cut the dread with the pod and ether add more asm in razors or add a vindicator

if you want to step it up replace the plasma with melta guns

and make the third (and fourth) razors with the same weapons

If you'll keep the the podding dread. Drop it very close to the baals so that they make one big threath together. You can also use the pod to cover your tanks. That way you'll hav 3 AV 13 in enemys face T1. Then you have better time fir vindies to get in to a good firing positions.

I like the second list version. Maybe not the absolute best BA can offer, but certainly fun and not so easy opponent to most lists.

Thanks guys! Hope it will help me in the battle with my friend. Btw what is the best way to cope with Avatar having a BA army? (Previous time my friend ripped Dante and Lemarte with 5DC with Avatat so i am kinda frustrated after this... comparing the total cost of these units.)

Shoot it to 1 or 2 wounds. Then assault it with 2 squads. Avoid it with furioso since MC:s eats dreads with no sweat.

Btw would it be useful to take a techmarine with the list in which there are numerous armored?
