Just wondering if models on forgeworld ever stop being made? Because there are some models i want but cant get them for awhile, i want to know if they will still be there.

It doesn't happen very often, I wouldn't really worry about it.

However they did recently stop selling the Tyranid terrain pieces (spore chimneys, capillary towers, etc).

They discontinue some pieces sometimes. Mostly older and less popular stuff like some terrain pieces, as Arson Fire noted.

Yes, FW does stop producing some models, but it doesn't really happen often enough to really worry about it.

That happens to all terrain. They do a few runs and then when their stock gets pretty low they list them as out of stock. Something you can still get them if you email them and ask, but terrain doesn't sell enough to keep making new molds.

They have appointed a 'terrain master' to see which are worth redoing, but I don't think anything has come of it yet.

They stopped making thier bomb ass razorback conversions, which is a fething shame considering now the only options for a lot of the turrets are conversion or third party.

The Renegade version of the Sabre platforms aren't available at the moment either :(

Yeah, I finally had the disposable income to buy several terrain pieces I wanted, including a fair amount of their trench pieces, and then when I went on to buy them... out of stock, all of them, except the trench lights and ramps which are useless without the trenches. Everything I waited and saved to buy... gone gone gone....

I don't know what web page you're checking, but they're still showing up as available for me.

Yeah, I see all their vehicle upgrades/conversions as being avaliable.

They DO stop making stuff.

Moulds for resin wear out with each cast
It's often the case that you have to stop in order to make a new mould from the master before continuing.

I noticed no extra armor for Rhino's ( I must be the only person who puts extra armor on rhino's these days ). Was told they had to redo the mold, and that it wouldn't be available until end of the year.

Since when has anyone modeled EA on their models?

I put EA (the spaced one) on all my Rhinos purely because it looks cool, I phoned them and had the same info as Insurgency Walker, which has left my SM on hold for a bit.

They're not actually redoing the Extra Armour mold.

They're entirely resculpting the Extra Armour. It'll be a new set, by their accounts.

That's a good thing. The older the FW kit, the worse it is. Newer kits are often have better QA.

I have one set of Extra Armor for the old style rhino that was in a lot from ebay. Now I need an old rhino to put it on.

IIRC, the only EA that GW makes currently is what comes with the Vindicator kit. Which I say is just a representation of the AV13 on a Rhino hull.

This made me wonder if I'm the only one that gets annoyed about GW allowing options for vehicles and troops and then providing either no way to do it or providing bits but with another set? Example... rough riders.... only rough riders they provide are the horrible old and horrible bad talleran ones. Another perfect example, shotguns for your guardsmen. Show me where I can get guardsmen sized shotguns, other then FW. The ones on the SM scout sprues are a little big for guard, in my opinion.

Its because GW likes to encourage converting. But they also stick you with the stipulation that its GW products only.

Space Marine scouts arn't even good with Shotguns anyway...

That's because only Arbites really know how to wield a shotgun.
However I think they got pink slips with the new grey knight codex and SOB...ah... thing.
"I used to be a basic troop choice, got to ride in a rhino. Now I foot slog for the guard, doesn't feel the same. Oh sure we can still take the Chimera on patrol, nice ride that. But I just don't see the point anymore. Not all slab sided for hanging the guilty from. I keep getting told I'll get myself a right patrol vehicle, Chimera with wheels the man said. Only he paints them all up in desert colors. You can't just pull up behind some chaos cultists in a rhino, switch on the flashers and say 'Hey, your guilty of being twisty in an Imperial zone' driving a yellow chimera now can you"
