I'd suggest rhinos or razorbacks for your troops. I'd also suggest two melta guns in the 10 man squad as the second melta is free, so take it imo. I'd drop a dreadnought since only one comes in turn 1 anyway, and invest those points in rhinos for your grey hunters. I'm not a fan of the MM drop pod dreads anyway as I've yet to see one actually hit haha.

I was in a rush when I posted the original list...I forgot to list the Rhinos for the troops and 1 Predator. Updated the list...

The reason I have 1 9 man squad is so I can attach the Rune Priest and stick them in a Rhino (since the capacity is 10).

I would only drop 10 grey hunters with 2 meltas as this is one grade up from suicide.

I do not think all your units work together well. The dreads will alone on the other side of the board. The landspeeders can operate together which is ok. But two rhinos runing alone sounds a little risky given the pred will left behind to shoot.

Then you have a lack of long range antitank. Some lists can get around this however you are trying to run over in rhinos and drop podding only one dread in the first turn.

Extras have to be long fangs, wolf scouts and thunderwolf cavalry. They are all different so you can pick which one.

Not sure what you meant by "I would only drop 10 grey hunters with 2 meltas as this is one grade up from suicide."

I can drop a dread and put some Lascannons on my Predator. I suppose I could drop a Grey Hunter squad to 5 and stick them in a Razorback and buy some Long Fangs with whatever points are left.

Remember, this is 1000 points.

Your list is 1,020 points, not 1,000. Here's a breakdown with the unit totals:

Rune Priest (Powers) - 100
Dreadnought (Multi-Melta, Heavy Flamer, Drop Pod) - 150
Dreadnought (Multi-Melta, Heavy Flamer, Drop Pod) - 150
10 Grey Hunters (Meltagun, Flamer, Mark of the Wulfen, Wolf Standard, Rhino) - 210
9 Grey Hunters (Meltagun, Wolf Standard, Rhino) - 185
Land Speeder (Multi-Melta, Heavy Flamer) - 70
Land Speeder (Multi-Melta, Heavy Flamer) - 70
Predator (Autocannon, Sponsion Heavy Bolters) - 85
Total 1,020

With that in mind, I think the list has some potential but you need to adjust the format a bit.

First of all, you need a third drop pod, or none at all. Without it you aren't getting both Dreadnoughts at once, and a lone Dreadnought is going to get blown up pretty early if you aren't careful. Unfortunately there is no real place to include another Drop Pod in this list, so I think you either need to ditch the Pods and run PC/HF or Rifleman Dreads, or take another unit to attach a 3rd drop pod to (Wolf Guard work well for this).

Second, you do lack some long ranged punch, but that said, you have the potential for some fast firepower. I'm wondering, though, if Razorbacks might not serve you a little better in this regard. Land Speeders are fast and light, but very easy to take down. Razorbacks have an extra point of armor and don't have to get so close to be effective. If you broke one of your Grey Hunter packs in half and gave each half a Razorback, you could replace the Land Speeders and save a few points at the same time.

If you split the Grey Hunter pack and ditch the Land Speeders and the Drop Pods, you come up with something like this:

Rune Priest (Powers) - 100
Dreadnought (Plasma Cannon, Heavy Flamer) - 125
Dreadnought (Plasma Cannon, Heavy Flamer) - 125
3 Wolf Guard (Power Fist, 2x Combi-Melta, 1x Combi-Flamer) - 89
8 Grey Hunters (Meltagun, Wolf Standard, Rhino) - 170
5 Grey Hunters (Meltagun, Razorback w/ TL Lascannon) - 155
5 Grey Hunters (Flamer, Razorback w/ TL Lascannon) - 150
Predator (Autocannon, Sponsion Heavy Bolters) - 85
Total 999

The list you were trying to build actually works very well at the 1,500 level, which might be a good list to work toward for your collection. I ran something very similar a few months back and it did rather well. Here's the list:

Rune Priest (Chooser, Living Lightning, Tempest's Wrath) - 110
Dreadnought (Multi-Melta, Heavy Flamer, Drop Pod) - 150
Dreadnought (Multi-Melta, Heavy Flamer, Drop Pod) - 150
3 Wolf Guard (1x Power Fist, 1x Combi-Melta, 2x Combi-Flamer, Drop Pod) - 124
8 Grey Hunters (Meltagun, Wolf Standard, Rhino) - 170
5 Grey Hunters (Flamer, Razorback w/ TL Lascannon) - 150
5 Grey Hunters (Flamer, Razorback w/ TL Lascannon) - 150
Land Speeder (Multi-Melta, Heavy Flamer) - 70
Land Speeder (Multi-Melta, Heavy Flamer) - 70
5 Long Fangs (4 Missile Launchers) - 115
Predator (Autocannon, Sponsion Lascannons) - 120
Predator (Autocannon, Sponsion Lascannons) - 120
Total 1,499

I don't usually run Long Fangs without a transport but in this case I just could not fit it in the list and still keep everything I wanted. I think in the original list I ran a pair of Vindicators in place of the Predators, which gave me enough points to put Meltaguns on the small Grey Hunter packs, but I think Predators might fit the style better overall. Anyway, I thought I would post it because it's similar to your original design.

Hope that helps!

Yep, that helps a ton. I went kind of crazy when I started playing 40k about 3 weeks ago and bought about 5k worth of marines, so I have quite a few options, except for all the combi-weapon conversions that I need to do. As far as my dreads, I have 4 AoBR dreads and one old style with ML/LC/CC arms, so I will need to get parts to do the rifleman conversions, or plasma cannon conversions.

Have any idea where to get bits for the Plasma Cannon arm?

Sorry I have not made myself clear. I meant drop podding a dread mean you get within melting distance which means it is likely to die after one round of shooting. I would only drop pod a squad of grey hunters as they get two shots and 10 marines are slightly more likely to survive. Sorry for the confusion .
