I dont' think tau would ally with necrons or be controlled by them... maybe divise some way to control them...

but if you want necron themed tau then so be it... look on ebay, buy some necron bitz and kitbash em onto tau models

Good idea but think of this, all races have rebels maybe "some" tau decided the "greater good" wasn't powerful enough and they wanted power so they betrayed their kind and joined the necrons, story of the "peace keepers" not being so peaceful.... ......i could make a movie out of that.

Um...slightly strange choice of armies their, but i would maybe have some scarabs with firewarriors or like those necrony-type gem/crystal things on the bases of the Tau.
maybe even using necron weapons...or like a Tau commander with a necron breast plate.

It's not that Tau wouldn't try to join Necrons. It's that Necrons want to kill everyone...

It's a bit of an oddball idea certainly, but the possibilities for conversions would be fun, and it wouldn't (particularly if the rumours are true about the background changes forthcoming in the new Necron book) be entirely implausible for one of the C'tan to have taken over a Tau world. That itself isn't far from one (the other being the influence of Chaos) of the possibilities mooted as an explanation for Commander Farsight's apparent longevity and escape from the Ethereals' rule.

If you do it up like Pariahs, I may understand. Otherwise, I'm inclined to say "lolwtfudoin".

Necrons don't make alliances, they kill the living, and the Tau don't join others, they make others join them.

Impossible. The army would be a fluff abomination.

Why do people not like the Gehenna campaign? It was army A and army B fighting....than bigger army C shows up, seeing the bigger threat army A and B divert attention from each other to attack army C.
Once army C is dead A and B are to weak to continue fight each other. It's not like they were all like "Yo metal bro, wanna stop shooting you're PEW PEW lasers at us and fight some bugs" *kills bugs* "Hell ya my metal bro...." *bro fist*

Please guys, remember this is the P&M section, not the 40k fluff section (I don't want to see this thread end like the female space marines one)

Devlin215, your idea is interesting. I think you should go for green lenses, metallic armors, scarab like armor pieces (like the fire warriors shoulder pads).

Do you have any sculpting experience?

Tau firewarriors with Gauss rifles? take any blades away to make them more "suited" to the tau???

Im thinking you could attach scarabs to the backs of your tau like some sort of mind control parasite. Run some wires from the scarab to the heads or something similiar.

Couple ideas:

For the suits/vehicles, you could attach a scarab or other type of Necron looking bit and add an effect coming off of it similar to this via paint or GS:

Spoiler:

For Fire Warriors you could do the same but maybe paint their flesh more gaunt and almost zombified. Necron commands surely don't include eating or taking care of yourself so i would imagine they would look pretty run down.

I would post in the background section if I were you. But I am puritan when it comes to the fluff.

With the new necron background it might be fine, to just give the tau some C'tan iconography. Although I doubt Tau would be able to actually use gauss weapons or integrate necrodermis into there technology. It would be a bit like using diesel in a petrol engine. So painting some C'tan stuff would be the easy way out of this.

You could try and do them up like a pairah, with mind control. After all they do it with humans don't they? So why not Tau?

Or one idea is that you could have it so that it is the necrons who cannibalised the tau tech, not the other way round. There is so many reported cases of necrons using zeno tech to repair themselves. That wound be fun, giving fire warriors necron heads and arms to represent places where the limbs have been blasted off. I could just see it, a silent Tau armoury. Then suddenly an armoured sensor suit stumbles up like a zombie and reaches out to an earth caste worker, eager to kill. Then more come pouring out, grabbing pulse carbines as they go.

You guys are awesome i was thinking almost the same thing as you were thinking of. . . . . . . Picture this tau are going to try
to take over weak races (kroot and/or stingwings) and some parasite in the forest bites them (yes i was thinking of spider man at
the time being) and they go wonky and they fight their own team creating more corrupt tau with no thought of the greater
good nor care about the greater good on their way and some vespidwings and stingwings and/or kroot get in the way so they
get turned also and the parasite breaks out like a plague on steroids and spreads to more tau because they take a tau ship with
stingwings and vespidwings and/or kroot and go to a necron controlled planet and the necrons decide they could be useful and
since the tau still have free will and they arn't animals they are just infected with a parasite they decide it is a good idea to join
an immortal force in the universe so they are allied and powerful and are a freakish force of nature. . . . . . . and besides i love
being unique and new and don't like traditional things hence the tau necron force + i have no idea how to use green stuff im
new to 40k

What about pariahs, fare enough it is not exactly voluntary, but it shows that necrons don't just kill everything they find. I suppose they would kill anything they could not incase in necrodermis.

Sure but Tau don't have pariahs for the necrons to harvest.

They do, it might be possible to turn a Tau into a pariah? Fare enough, albeit blue midget ones. Or am I mistaken what I pariah is? I will look it up.

From what I read they are rather rare as the humans they harvest need a certain gene to harvest. And as tau are a new race, there is not enough of them to muster a full force.

This should be posted in the background section.
