Equipment.

Assault Marines are, generally, younger and more brash Astartes.

the general progression is for a Marine to join the Devestators upon recieving the Black Carapace, then to continue on to the Assault Squads. then, once he has been tempered in the fires of war, he wil become a Tactical Marine. Marines that show affinity for a particular talent will stay in the Devestator or Assault squads depending on the situation.

Tactical marines may also be issued equipment for a particular mission. a Tac squad could become an Ad Hoc Assault or Devestator squad if needed.

the assault marines have jump packs and close combat weapons for more attacks when charging and getting there faster. tactical marines have the same statline but have boltguns instead of CC weapons and get a speacial weapon and a heavy weapon for tactical flexability

ASM get a discount for transports, and dont have the firepower of bolters. You also get to take two assault weapons in squads of 10.

You mean, like, out of armor, just chillaxing back on the Battle Barge?

Nothing. They're both Space Marines of the same Chapter, the Assault/Tactical/Devastator classification only defines what role they play in battle. Indeed, some Chapters may allow Marines to move fluidly between these roles, as the battlefield requires.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Indeed, Calgar is the ultimate boss will all his little blue pimps.

Cassius hustles pool like you wouldn't belive, Tigerius is a card shark, and Sicarus is, well, a dick. but we already knew that.

Aside from one squad should be fielded sparingly, and the other should be fielded heavily?

The equipment, and transport discount, are the only differences.

It is all very clear in the codex.

Yes, this is an obvious answer if you read the codex.

Are you possably wondering how to build a BA assault squad without Jump Packs?

I'm not quite sure how it's possible to think assault marines did anything besides choppy choppy.

All will become clear if you read the codex. Knowledge is power n' stuff.

Assault Squad is either gonna be getting into assault in jump packs or sitting in some kind of discounted transport and either never voluntarily gets out or jump out and shoot/assault depends on which transport and how big the squad is.
Tac Squad really should be fielded in vanilla marines or SW.

Yeah unless you are a huge fan of boltguns, for blood angels assault marines in rhinos is the best option. Tactical marines can get heavy weapons, but there are other places for them. Tactical marines get a boltgun, assault marines get an extra attack. Simple as that.
